What are the sections of New York? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

You wouldn't believe how hard it is for me to find this. Probably has something to do with the German server I'm using, but anyway... What are the districts of New York City? One of my friends asked me and I'm not sure I could name all of them. Here's what I know:

Manahattan
Long Island
The Bronx
Brooklyn
Queens
Staten Island

Is that all of them? Does anyone know a good website? Any help is appreciated!

I come from Scarsdale, New York, a sleepy little suburb of New York City. The five boroughs are Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. You were right except for Long Island. Queens and Brooklyn are part of Long Island.

I love Long Island, My mother was born and raised in Hempstead and I still have family down there in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

If you're referring to the five boroughs, then the ones you listed are correct except for Long Island.

As for sections, I only know the ones in Manhattan, lol....
Lower East Side, East Village, Soho, Noho, Chinatown, Little Italy, Financial District, Battery Park City, Greenwich Village, East Village, Chelsea, West Side, Upper East Side, Upper West side, East Harlem, Washington Heights, Harlem, etc.

Soho is just south of Noho/Houston Street and west of Little Italy. It's exactly like Noho, only it's more.. south, LOL. And yeah, they have lots of good stores there-- American Eagle, Banana Republic, Yellow Rat Bastard, lol-- you name it.

Okay, what is with my encyclopedia? It says the five boroughs of NY are Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Richmond. Richmond?? Why are they considering Staten Island as Richmond?

Hi, Cashodeen.

Well, someone else probably knows more about this than I do, but Staten Island is located in Richmond County, and Richmond may be a previous or alternate name for it.
