Hi everyone,
I understand that Columbia House released ILL on DVD and video some time ago, but since I was so busy with my grad studies last year, I didn't pay much attention to that. So....I'm just curious now to know what the CH tapes look like: Do they include the original animated openings or the script-heart openings of ILL? How about the length of the eps: Are they the original full-length episodes? Gee, it would be nice to see the original animated openings of ILL, as opposed to the "restored" animated openings that we're seeing on TV Land (meaning that it would include the original CBS logo, the original sponsors' logo in the animations, etc., etc......) |

It's my understanding that the Columbia House versions are the same as the more widely available DVDs that some of us have been collecting (impatiently!), in which case yes, original animated openings as extras, fully restored episodes - even down to bits not seen in years. Then you can laugh about why they were cut in the first place - like Desi and Lucy's full length kiss from Lucy Is Jealous Of Girl Singer.

I have the Columbia House DVDs. They are full length restored versions and they are excellent. They do use the heart opening but do have the animated opening in the Bonus Feature section. They have very interesting behind the scenes features. I am looking forward to the latest DVD being delivered. Lolac

The CH tapes have the boring old heart opening, but they are uncut. At least I think so. I stopped getting them.

). Since I posted this thread, I found out that my local library carries many of the CH video tapes of ILL, BUT apparently, they are not the same as the DVD's- because the one I'm checking out right now (The Best of ILL) does not have a bonus ep with the animated opening.Okeeedokee.....time for me to get a DVD player!
