Which of the first three seasons is your favorite and why?

If you could only watch one of these seasons which would it be?

Hmmm. That's a tough call, but I would have to go with season two. The writing was getting better, and the characters were really starting to come into their own.
Besides such great episodes like "Five O'Clock Charlie," "The Trial Of Henry Blake," and "Crisis," season three has my all time favorite episode - "Deal Me Out."

The best season of the Trapper/Henry years was season 3 because of all of the classic episodes contained in my DVD package. I have all of the Trapper/Henry episodes on DVD. I'm actually a bigger fan of the later years with B.J./Potter/Charles.

The third season...except I didn't like how they got rid of Henry.

Yeah, that ending sure stunk. The studio must have really had it in for him to make sure he couldn't come back. Although, I read a story somewhere about how McClean Stevenson really gave the studio a hard time about a number of the conditions the actors had to work under. He was sort of their Unofficial Shop Steward.

no, the studio didn't "have it in for him". There's been a lot f false stories & rumors about this over the years, but the real story is, McLean Stevenson was a big hit as both a guest & a guest host on "The Tonight show" on NBC (MASH was on CBS). So, when NBC offered him a long-term contract which included his own series, he decided to leeave MASH. The writers and producers decided to have him die that way because they wanted to show viewers that, in war, not everyone makes through alive, and ANYONE can, and unfortunatly sometimes is, killed with little or no warning. They DIDN'T "have it in for him".
Although, sometimes the working conditions weren't the greatest.
Anyway, his decision to leave has since been called a really baaad decision.
