Default 'Mr. Personality' Continues to Play Mind Games

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - FOX's "Mr. Personality" is only half done and we're already rooting for motivational speaker Chris to take it on home with his Jedi mind tricks. If nothing else it might give those who condemn the shallowness of making mating decisions based on looks pause. Really, what else is Hayley here for than to serve as an example to us all?

The extraordinary Hayley (and we use that adjective in a different loose fashion that the show does) continued Monday (May 5) to parse through her rainbow coalition of suitors, who in their brightly colored masks and casual beachwear resemble what the Blue Man Group might be like when on vacation.

Before she can get to her three individual dates though, Hayley is immediately made to question whether or not she should have kept Yellow Ted around this long. It seems the musician popped a Xanax before the last ceremony. Followed up with a couple of drinks, he quickly becomes bombed out of his mind and starts poking himself in the eye as he not-so-subtly gestures to the others that he loves Hayley.

His later passing of a note to her and stumbled confession that he's developing feelings for her in the dark room don't go over well, but he really crosses a line when he gives her a ring that he says is special to him.

We'll end the suspense now ... Yellow Ted is not asked to stay again. While we're at it, Red Michael, the publicist who choked when given a chance to spend some alone time with her last week, also gets cut.

That leaves Orange Peyton, Purple Jim, Silver Will and Green Chris who, if this were that other dating show, would have been given roses at the end of the hour.

Hayley's first date is with Purple Jim. They go off for a picnic and some wine tasting which leads to a rather bizarre wine fight. We don't know about you, but where we're from wine is something that you do everything possible to keep from getting on your clothes. But, hey, to each their own.

Purple Jim and Hayley also kiss, which he thinks is perfect and she thinks was okay considering the nose on his mask got in the way.

Date No. 2 is with Silver Will. The duo goes off on a Hummer ride across some dunes. This might be fun but, truth be told, looks like the world's laziest roller coaster. The romantic dinner is a bit better, especially when Will says that the recurring complaints girlfriends have about him is that 1) he's too friendly to other women, or b) he treats women like a business transaction.

Yeah, he's a catch. This is reinforced when he doesn't have the cajones to kiss Hayley, but feels free to joke with the other guys, "I slept with her; I just didn't kiss her."

Actually, Will is a total jerk. The only thing redeeming about him is that he's completely disgusted by Green Chris' plans to hypnotize Hayley into falling for him. Not that he's bothered enough to tell Hayley about it.

Speaking of Chris, he goes on the last date with Hayley -- a helicopter ride over Los Angeles and yet another meal in an outdoor setting.

Long story short: Hayley is falling for Chris' tactics hook, line and sinker. She thinks he's "sexy, intriguing and those eyes." When she's with him she has "this sense of everything's going to be okay." Her only doubt is whether he's "too good to be true."

Well, gee, Hayley. Do you really think a reality show would throw in a ringer?

Orange Peyton is the only one who doesn't have an individual date with Hayley that gets chosen to stay. She decides to keep him around sort of spur-of-the-moment so that she can get to know him better. Still, she really seems to be saying, "Hey, they said I had to pick four."
