Here's what I love...
-The cast was talented and had great chemistry. They also didn't act like divas like some other certain celebrities out there. They looked like they really had a great time with each other on and off the set. -The characters all had depth and different personalities and seemed like real human beings. They were people that I could sympathize with and I felt like they were my "special friends" that I could share a lot of laughs with. No spoiled, shallow yuppies. -The humor was good-natured, warmhearted, and funny. None of that mean-spirited, cynical stuff that seems to be the main focus of many popular 1990's sitcoms. It was also clean, no sexual innuendo and potty humor. -The plots were interesting and the writing was intelligent. They had actual, realistic plots. -No cutesy, precoscious (sp) kids or bratty teens or stupid parents. It was a show about real adults and it was for adults. -It didn't shove social, moral, or political issues down our throats like some sitcoms do. No "Very Special Episodes" either. (Unless the one where Roy accepts his son's homosexuality counts.) I've heard critics and other non-Wings fans refer to the show as "bland and inoffensive". I actually think they could be right. All it really did was make us laugh, and that's all I ask for in a sitcom. |

That's another good thing about Wings. I can watch the reruns over and over again and still laugh out loud each time. Also, the guys are hot!

I agree with everything Kristen said!! For every one of those reasons. Are there great minds here, or what?
![]() Like you, I detest shows that try to teach me things or make political/social statements. I can take care of that stuff on my own, thank you very much! Somehow "Wings" has the ability to really cheer me up. I feel comfortable with the characters and Helen's southern accent makes me feel at home. ![]() All of the characters have their little quirks. And you know, even though I think Tim & Steven are really good-looking guys, & Crystal is beautiful, they're not so perfect-looking that they're unrealistic. And that makes them all the *more* good-looking, in a way! Love, Wing<>< |

It makes me laugh, no matter how many times I have seen an episode it still makes me laugh.
Another reason is that I really, really like the characters. I like how diverse they are. I seem to connect with them so well. Esp. Joe, Brian and Helen. It's a great show, that's why I love it. I had a friend say yesterday that she stayed up a few nights before and watched Wings because I talk about it. She says she has watched it every night so far. She loves it. Ahhhh, another person understands! |

I like the following themes:
Sexual Innuendo - Alex & Joe, did they "do it" that night? Joe to Brian: "Nothing happened!" Brian: ".............Liar!" Joe: "OK, we did it!" Brian: ".............Liar!" Potty Humor - Joe's hand stuck in the toilet on his wedding day with Helen. Political Agenda - "Roy Biggins for Town Councilman!"

"Wings" DOES have an interesting mixture of classy and sometimes-risque humor....but even at it's MOST risque, it's never vulgar or "trashy".

the show is still funny and fresh even after seeing them many times over, clean humor but witty, something I didn't mind my daughters watch on my tapes, they have watched so many times tapes are showing wear. I WANT MY WINGS DVDS
