i am a new viewer of Curb Your Enthusiasm and I have to say this guy is a genius of comedy

this show is absolutely brilliant the seinfeld of the millenium

I just started watching this show last month on the HBO Comedy Channel and I am enjoying it very much. I've been taping it every day. I got a little behind in watching them due to the holidays. I'm now up to the middle of the 2nd season episodes. I do find myself agreeing with Larry a lot of the time.

I caught a couple episodes a few years back and loved it. Finally got a DVD of Season 2 recently and loved it. Very good!!!!

Did you know that Larry David is the inspiration for George on Seinfeld~or is that just obvious?

Yeah and several of the episodes on Seinfeld that happened to George actually happened to Larry in his life.

One of my favorites is when Larry was a writer on Saturday Night Live (only for one season) and he was so pissed off/sick and tired of the producers because they didn't use any of his material that he ever wrote so he just QUIT cuz he was so freakin fed up with them! And he quit knowing he had no other job to go to and no money.

Then later in the evening after he calmed down and got a grip he realized he was in deep **** with no job, no prospects, and no income and so he went to his neighbor Kenny Kramer (Kramer) and Kramer told him to just "show up" the next day at work and act like nothing happened. And so he did! And the writers he said, looked at him oddly and junk and I can't remember what he said about the producers but he just showed up and started working again like nothing happened. Remember that episode when George quits and then just "shows" back up like nothing happened or something like that? Based on actual events in Larry's life. Great stuff.

Larry's a gas. It just doesn't get any better than this show. I usually agree with Larry...:-)

That's funny! I love disagreeing with him! Usually he's right, but he's like a pitbull who never let's go and does it at the most inopportune moments.
ex Telling Ben Stiller's dad that he's skimping on the cashews. He's a mensch supreme!

That's funny!

Larry is overly critical, annoying and a pitbull who won't let go! I love being irritated by him. One of the funniest things (IMO) is when he told Stiller's dad that he was being skimpy on the cashews. Who does that?!

I know what you mean!!! I love the fact that he doesn't let go, too!

He just keeps arguing whereas most people would just forget it. Remember the time in the doctor's office where he kept arguing with the doc about why he (patients) couldn't use the doctor's phone? How funny was that? And just when you thought the argument was over he then says "I know but I just don't understand why I can't use the phone if there is no cost involved" and he totally gets into it again!!! I ALSO love being irritated by him.

It was especially irritating when he bought the sunglasses for Jeff's Mum and he was like a lost puppy cuz he didn't know where to get wrapping paper and "the scissor" and he was hysterical in that he just couldn't be bothered with what he perceived as such nonsense that goes along with buying a gift for someone. Even at the gas station he was asking where you buy gift wrap or something!!

Then I loved how he used his Mother's death to get out of social obligations and just basically not having to speak to annoying friends of his if he saw them on the street. How great is that???

Sadly, I haven't seen ANY of this years shows cuz I am living on a small South Korean island (Jeju-do) teaching English to a bunch of slanty-eyed Korean kids...nah,they are cute-most of them, anyway, but some of them are evil.

Oh Yeah...I remember that episode with the cashews...wasn't it David Schwimmer's Dad he told that to? That was great!!! It was too funny when he refused to sing "Happy Birthday" at Ben's Birthday party because he said he just didn't like the song. And did you see the episode when Larry tried to dance as fast as the red-headed choreographer? I laughed so hard my tummy hurt.

I also loved when Larry cut the doll's (JUDY) hair and when the girl screamed and came running down the stairs and he told the mother "I thought it was understood" what a great line. And then when he found out the kid was in a "gifted" program he made another comment about how the kid should have known the hair wasn't going to grow back. I also loved when he yelled at the guy in the motorized wheelchair.

"Like George, David has a tendency to speak too much, blow things out of proportion, and, most often, fail in the end (and often liking it that way)." This often happens to me in my life, too! haha! Can you tell how much I miss watching Larry???? Glad you are enjoying him...I actually got a Larry David mousepad and "Larry David for President" pin from co-workers last year.

larry david is a comic genius. he's sooo funny. i always cringe during curb though, cuz i just get so embarassed for him. like that episode where he was auctioned off for $3000 to have lunch with a guy. like, what goes through his head?
