Question Question About Eddie

Has any of my fellow LITB fans ever found out about the reason for the disapperance of the Eddie Haskell character from the end of Season One to the start of Season Three?

Did the switch of studios cause this?

Thanks!

Eddie Haskell was seen in season #2, until close to the half-way mark, and "Wally's Birthday Present" is the last ep he is in until season #3.

I have always wanted to know, but have never found out, why Ken/'Eddie' is not seen in season 2 after that ep. But it doesn't appear the change in studios had anything to do with it, because that occured after season 2. When season 3 starts, he is right there with a more prominent role, and noticeably taller and deeper-voiced. He may have just been particularly 'geeky' while going through those changes...come to think of it, though, that goes right along with Eddie. Anyway, it is interesting he is still talked about while he is gone, as if to let viewers know he is not gone permanently. As Chester and Tooey disappear during season 3, they are not mentioned again, by contrast.

Do you know why they left the show? I also wonder why Eddie left for a while. Thank goodness he came back. It disappointed me we never see Tooey and Chester again.

Ditto to that. Eddie was just too good of a character to lose completely.

I've always had a feeling that Chester and Tooey were a little too old fashioned for the show when it moved to ABC. It seemed clear that ABC was trying to retool the show and make it more modern and more of a teenaged centered show. Tooey and Chester were Wally's boyhood friend. And they always had kind of 1940's "Dead End Kids" feel about them, at least imo. Eddie was around too, but clearly he is a different character in the later seasons than he was, as was Lumpy. For instance, how would they have played Tooey, a nearsighted kid, as a teenager? So, I just think it was that they didn't really fit the show anymore.

Really good explanation there. Why didn't I think of that? I see the changes after they switched networks and studios, so everything you said really makes sense. Tooey and Chester were seen up until season 3 I think, but it was clear they were being faded out, appearing in such a small number of epsiodes as the series continued.

Wasn't Tooey Whities brother in real life? Maybe there is a real life explanation to Tooies disappearance. Did Whitey disappear at the same time that Tooey did? Did the family move away? Whitey used to come to this board sometimes. Maybe if he drops in he could fill us in on this mystery. I don't know or can't remember, lol, what happened to everyone, and when.

Yep, they are brothers. But Whitey remained on the show through the whole series. That was part of my initial confusion about Tooey's disappearance--I thought if Whitey could stay on, why couldn't he?

I didn't know the person who played Whitey used to come to this board! Do you know his screen name?

Thanks a bunch, BrandonS! This is just too cool. Unfortauntely I haven't come to this board consistantly so I've missed it when Mr. Fafara has posted here. I'm looking forward to when he returns!
