Default Lucy's Looks!

I'm very sorry but I have allways thought that Lucy looked her best durring "I Love Lucy", THe Lucy Desi Comedy Hour" and the 1st 3 seasons of "The Lucy Show". But I will say this for some reason when "The Lucy Show" went into color and she moved to California her clothes were so horrible! I think she look best in a pair of pants and a any type of shirt! And of corse we know she didn't look her best in "Here's Lucy" either, but she still looked good for an old lady! And thats my opion of Lucy's Looks!

Lucy was a little heavy the first couple years of I Love Lucy, because of her pregnancies. Then I think she looked great. I don't think she looked so hot during the comedy hours, probably because of the marital stress she was undergoing. But she looked stunning the first few years of The Lucy Show.

Those clothes they put her in on TLS and HL...OMG...some of them were ugly and unflattering. I'm sure some of it was the fact that a lot of clothes during that time were ugly, but the wardrobe person messed up big time.

I know what you mean. Around the 4th season of TLS, she was wearing some really hideous clothes. One dress that comes to mind was a tight, gold, knee-length, one piece outfit with sort of a Paisley design on it. I think she was wearing that in that Christmas episode in 1965. How awful! I have to say, though, that I liked some of the clothes she was wearing starting about midway through HL. Especially during the fifth season when she was having to wear those long boots because of her broken leg. She looked really hip with those boots and the outfits that went with them. Perhaps she should have broken her leg sooner.

Look, i'm a guy, and know nothing about clothes, but don't you think a former model actress who wore costumes and outfits for all those shows was just fed up with fittings and her fluctuating weight and all and that's why she ended up wearing garish outfits in later life supposedly chosen by her no taste second hubby?

I heard he was responsible for her wearing all those gowns that made her appear she was trying to look like Queen Elizabeth.

Ok, but like i always do, wheneve er i criticize Gary, i try and remember he made her happy for 28 years and didn't cheat on her or drink or humuliate her in public and all the other things the LOVE of her life did. I was shocked recently when i got a COMPLETE Barbara Walters interview where Lucy says how he got her threw her depression when she retired after Here's Lucy and took great care of her, it was hard to hate him after that, of course that was in '77, not in '89, when he had put her through the Life with Lucy debacle and was always leaving her alone while he golfed. BUT, i'm honest enough to agree with Jane that Lucy was no picnic to live with, so maybe he HAD to go play golf a lot!

I think Lucy looked pretty good. Well, starting from episode 50, Lucy is Enciente, she was pregnant. After all she was stunning!! The Lucy Show, her clothes probrally looked bad to you because that was in the 50s or even the 60s. Thatz the clothes they wore back then. I think otherwise she was a beautiful, impressive, lovable, and stunning actress.

I'm currently looking at Here's Lucy episodes and she was well dressed in those also, she dressed modestly for her characters who were after all a housewife or a secretary. But she sometimes looked fabulous, after all , a former model knows how to look good in clothes, but i don't think she cared so much in her personal life, she was too busy to care and spend too much time picking out clothes, she let Jim Brochu pick out her outfit for the Oscars!

Hi -

I always thought that Lucy was very beautiful during the I.L.Lucy years...

Incidentally, the following link is really cool...it's goes to another subject on the I Love Lucy board, with the subject being "What color was Lucy's real hair?"...

Dawsongirl attached a picture of Lucille Ball in her comment...the pic was probably taken in the mid 1940s (I'm guessing) and Lucy has brown hair...and she looks absolutely beautiful in that picture...a total natural beauty

Here's the link...see if you don't agree...
