Just wanted to know what part of CA was WHAT'S happenng based in?

Good question. I've seen almost every episode and the location isn't very clear. Interestingly, the movie that What's Happening!! is based on, Cooley High, takes place in Chicago.

All I remember is California but not exactly what part.

I swear, the living room set of What's Happening!! looks exactly like Sanford & Son. Anyway, we all know Sanford & Son was set in L.A.'s Watts, I believe What's Happening!! was as well.
