They never mentioned his last name, but I read once that it could be Arcola. They kinda hinted around about that. They had a play on words about this in a few episodes, it was subtle but it was there

Really?

It is really weird how Scott Baio has the same first name and Mother from Happy Days, But with all the Happy Days references on the show i assume their not the same character. Plus Happy Days took place in the 50's/60's While Charles In Charge took place in the 80's.

That would be really weird if his last name was Arcola though

Yeah they left it up in the air for that reason. He had the same woman play his mother on both shows, and I read once that his last name is more than likely Arcola, that he's a present day version of Chachi(Chachi and Charles are alot alike in some aspects)

Brett is correct in saying that Charles had a last name, he did, but it was never given. In the very last episode of the series there was a joke about how Charles never gave out his last name. During the eighties it was very common to have characters that only went by one name, where neither a first or a last name was given.
