Cool Shows your parents forbade you to watch

Did your parents ever forbid you from watching certain TV shows?

My parents never really forbade me from watching certain TV shows. They allowed me to watch whatever I wanted, within reason. They'd limit how much TV a day I could watch though.

My parents wouldn't let me watch "Three's Company" when I was young. I guess I repeated something that I shouldn't have that Jack Tripper said, and they wouldn't let me watch it. Now that I'm 21, however ...

Also some of "Married ... With Children" they didn't want me to watch, but they never would check in on me, making sure I wasn't watching it or anything.

When I was in elementary school, my parents did not want me to watch "Married with Children" because it was a vulgar show. They also wouldn't let me watch South Park when it first came on. I think it's ok now.

Three's Company and Beavis and Butthead were two no-no's on my parents' list. (I wouldn't be surprised if Married ... with Children were on there as well!)

I must say I had a very good upbringing.

My mom wouldn't let my brothers watch the Nickeloden show Finders Keepers. That's the show where the players tore apart rooms looking for clues. Well my brothers would decide to play it themselves they would totally trash the family room. I also think we couldn't watch the Simpson when it first came out.

Many years ago I couldn't watch a certain movie with the group KISS on it. Must have been the paint.

I've never been forbidden to watch any show. I have had limits on how much TV I could watch for one day, but I never followed those limits.

Nope, I can pretty much watch whatever I want...it's not like I'm going to go and repeat anything bad I see on tv, and my parents know that.

The big three I can remember were -

Three's Company
Roseanne
Married...With Children

As I grew older, and ventured off into college, I watched these three anytime I could. And, with the exception of Three's Company, I saw the other two shows for the udder stupidity they presented.

How about that...mom was right

My parents didn't ever care what shows I watched. In fact, they would let me watch some pretty crazy things. I liked a lot of dramas and exposes that were on. The only thing I can remember was my mother wouldn't let me watch the movie Uncle Buck because my insane in the membrane aunt told her it was bad. My mom finally let me watch it after I begged and begged. Come to think of it, my mom wouldn't let me watch SNL when I was about 4 years old. I remember drawing these pictures with the title of the show in big letters and lights around it. Then I would post the pictures all over the house. She finally let me watch.
