No and depends.
If your friend had the BF for like, 3 years and they were very serious, then HANDS OFF. But, if it was for like, 3 months (because 3 months is soooo serious ) then who cares? Just ask for permission though. The older you get though, the more HANDS-OFF the man is. I mean.. when you're older you get more mature and get more serious with relationships. 6 months to a 15 year old isnt nearly as bad if you're 24. Yah, both ages hurt, but when youre 24 you were actually looking for something.

My former girlfriend was engaged to a guy I know. He wasn't a good friend, more of a casual friend I ran into from time to time.
They broke up long before we dated. I wonder if he ever found out we dated... Man, that's going to be an awkward conversation. Anyway, since my ex's fiance wasn't a close friend of mine, I don't feel wierd about it, but I would never date an ex of a close friend, like say my roommate. It's an unwritten code of civilized men. "Thou shalt not mess with a bud's ex."

I'd say it depends on how strong the attraction, how good the friend, and how serious the two were.
My friend's ex-boyfriend started dating me for awhile, but I kinda thought it was just too weird. She said she didn't mind, but I'm not sure I believed her. She'd dated him for 2 years and they were engaged to be married. I remember when she broke up with him, and what was spooky was that I could see the reasons why she broke up with him (he was already getting really possesive and following me around) so I decided to end it before anything started. She and I are now really good friends - and I'm much happier having her for a friend. It wasn't a sacrifice to stay away from the guy, and now she and I have lots to laugh about

yes i have-
actually he went out w/ my friend. then went out w/ this total bitch, and i kind of stole him from her... i also went out w/ this guy and one of my friends dated him later and another friend dated him after that. we joke about how i dont dump my bfs, i recycle them. personally i think theyre fair game...unless the friend still has major feelings for them. but maybe im not the best person to answer this question

Well...I haven't gone out with a friend's ex. However, I might do it depending on whether or not I really, really like him.

Personally, I wouldn't date a friends ex. Mind you, I suppose it all depends on how much I liked her - if she was a total fox and I thought the relationship might really go somehere then my veiw on this subject could change. It might be a bit wierd though - everytime I touched her I'd be thinking "My best mate has been here too!" - that could be a bit of a passion-killer!
If the shoe were on the other foot, I'd be pretty p*ssed off if a friend of mine dated my ex. I might want to slag my ex girlfriend off and talk sh*t about her but how can I rubbish her to my mates if one of my mates is now dating her?!? It's like TJL said - there's an unwritten rule that you don't mess with your mates ex-girlfriends. |

It depends a little, also, on how long they've been broken up. I'd think a year of seperation is a huge difference from 3 days

I wouldn't have anyway. My friends and I had radically different tastes in men.
