i heard that tony dow died recently, is this true

Well, you heard wrong. Tony Dow is very much alive and well. He did recently suffer through a bout of Prostrate cancer, but fully recovered from that.

Tony Dow is alive! Geez! Where did you learn that he had prostate cancer? Thats too bad!! I hope he's fully recovered! Thanks!

I don't know about Luke, but I heard about Tony Dow's prostate cancer from Entertainment Tonight.

Yeah, I heard about his prostrate cancer on ET, and on the LITB mail list. Yes, I believe he is fully recovered and doing well.
