Default John Lennon

Okay, here's the deal. I have a problem with John Lennon, and I'll explain why. Over the years, I've read numerous interviews and articles on how John Lennon wasn't fair financially to his first wife Cynthia. She makes this claim.
Julian Lennon claims he rarely saw his father after his parents split. He was on Howard Stern about two years ago explaining how he had to fight tooth and nail with Yoko to get any of his father's money after his death. Stern was on a real rant about it, but Julian didn't seem bitter--just resigned after a lifetime of neglect. That was my read on that interview anyway. It was obvious he had no use for Yoko. He also didn't disagree with Stern.
I read that John left everything to Yoko and Sean. I could pull all this stuff on the web, but I'm too lazy.
I know there are some devoted Lennon fans here, and the last thing I want to do is fight about this.
What I'd like is to be proven wrong. I mean that. Is is untrue that John was an absentee father to Julian and didn't provide adequately for him financially as a child or after he died?
I think John was a musical genius and a lover of peace, and if all this is true, it doesn't make sense that he didn't care about his relationship with Julian.
If it's true, was it Yoko? Was he henpecked? Sorry for the antiquated term.
Please, don't anyone flame me. This has always irked me because I find that I can't respect John for these reasons.
Anybody care to change my mind? Thanks.

Red face

I hate to say this but, what Julian said was true. I remember this from the 60's. Julian used to feel so bad. When John married Yoko he hardly saw Julian.

John was not there for Julian as much as he should have been and he had said that he felt bad about it thats why when he had Sean he took those five years off because he didnt want to treat another son that way. and Paul wrote Hey Jude for Julian during John and Cynthia's split, to try and make him feel better. After Johns death Julian wanted his guitars but Yoko did not want him to have them.

It must've been really hard for Juilan to watch his dad take the time to be a father to Sean . I think that would hurt more than anything.

Sad re: Julian and John

I heard that John Lennon had left a big chunk of money for Julian but Yoko prevented him from getting it. It was a very sizable amount, but Yoko took control of it and wouldn't let him have any of HIS money until a court settlement allowed him to get a SMALL portion of it. Don't we just love Yoko.

It's like the Frank Zappa album says, "We're Only In It For the Money."

After I had read numerous books and articles about John's non-relationship with Julian I lost a lot of respect for him. And yes, Paul tried to fill in a little for him. I had always thought Paul was the better person of the two! But as a musician and a Beatle I still love John!

There's no excuse for John snubbing Julian like that, but toward the end of John's life (the last few years), their relationship started to get much better, and they started seeing each other and talking to each other a lot more often. John would fly Julian out to New York City a lot and have Julian stay at the Dakota for a few weeks. He was even getting along with Yoko. It wasn't until after John died that Julian and Yoko's relationship turned sour, and that has a lot to do with Yoko preventing money from getting to Julian.

Paul, as was mentioned above, tried to fill in a little bit. It's common knowledge that Julian is the "Jude" in "Hey Jude."

Here's a weird fact: Julian turned forty earlier this month. He's now as old as his dad got.

Didn't the monster C****** state that John would have understood him murdering him or some stupid thing like that?

Yep. And I think he said Yoko understands, deep down inside.

The guy worshipped John Lennon. He even had an Asian wife, and after he offed John, he was going to try and win over the heart of Yoko.

He's up for parole every two years (this started in 2000, after he'd spent twenty years in prison). He's never going to make it out, and even if he does, there are probably thousands (if not millions) of people who will gladly "take him out" as he did John Lennon. ****ing *******.

So who has the most musical talent, Julian or Sean or is it a matter of personal opinion?
I think Julian looks exactly like his Dad which must piss off his wicked stepmother to no end.
