Default Old Obsessions

Okay, all of our siggys and avatars show that we all have celebrity favorites (coughobsessionscough) and i was wonder, what are your old obsessions as in celebs and what not?

Mine? Well...

Avril Lavigne, Three's Company, Dark Shadows, Britney Spears
(All of the above are still okay to me, just not stuff that i love and obsess over)

Yeah, you ditched me! You used to be as big a Mary fan as me!

Anyway, my old obsessions were Joey Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Rider Strong. LOL that was back in my teenybopper phase. I'm much more grown up now. (If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you LOL!)

Sorry, but I don't know. My big Mary craze lasted longer than it should've because I became obsessed with her and then I forgot about Liz and before I could remember her she passed away so I never got to write to her. If I ever forget Liz again because of another obsession with Mary or something/someone else I may just have to shoot myself. It hurts too much to remember that I forgot about the most enchanting person in the world. I feel so bad about that. How could I ever forgive myself for doing that?

Now that i think about it, I don't think I've had any. I likes 'Facts' but I was never obsessed with it. Not even close.

Really stupid obsessions I had in like 4th and 5th grade: Hanson, The Spice Girls, and Jewel (shes ok. but i never really like...i dunno.)

*I'm still a huge fan of all the following people. They've made me realize the good in me and I appreciate them for that.*
"Obsessions" that made a difference in my life:
Bette Midler- made me realize my dream of performing
Selena- made me realize who i was as a Hispanic in this world and that its important to know where you come from.
Donna Summer- when I was going thru a really rough time in my life, her music helped me get thru it all.
Shakira- observing her intelligence and her talent has helped me find some of my own ways to express my talents and intelligence.
Bonnie Bedelia- shes an extremely talented actress. and some day i hope to be a good one too.
Cher- She made me realize that being dark is okay. having dark hair, skin and eyes is just as beautiful and being pale. we're just beautiful in a different kind of way. and that being a girl and having a deep voice isnt so bad after all.

I used to be obsessed with 'Nsync, but now they just seem so juvenile.

Sitcom obsessions: The Facts of Life, I Love Lucy, and Leave it to Beaver. These all ended a long time ago, I still like the shows though especially Leave it to Beaver and Lucy (I watch them when they come on but I am no longer obsessed).

Other obsessions: Wizard of Oz. Geez that obsession was sick, I watched the movie everyday and got ALOT of merchandise of the movie at the WB Store. ummm that's all I can think of.

Cool re: former obsessions

I'm not obsessed with Lisa or the Facts of Life, even though of course I am a huge fan and all...For me obsession means something addictive or irrational. I guess I'm not obsessed if there are things she says or does that I may not agree with (her latest journal entry is a good example), but an obsessed person would gobble it up as if it were straight gospel.

But there was one person I had a sort of obsession with 15 years ago, the Rev. Robert Schuller, head of the Hour of Power program and pastor of the Windex--er, Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA., just a short distance from Disneyland (go figure). I've been there, and it's okay. But I remember in 1986 I was into his ministry and his message of self-esteem and all that, so it was cool when I got to talk to him on a radio program. So later that fall I got to see him at Southcenter Mall in Seattle doing a book signing and I was so excited that I got to give him a hug and he was super nice and all, and he remembered my comments on the radio....

So fast forward to winter 1994, snowy day in January, he was doing an appearance at the same mall, and the line was huge, and when I got to go up and say hello and have him sign my book, I started to tell him about meeting him several years before and he just RUDELY said, "I DON'T HAVE TIME!!" And I just went away from that thinking, there goes HIS t.v. ministry donation check... If anyone remembers, he was also involved in an air rage incident several years ago where he put his hands on a flight attendant in a confrontational manner.
Mr. Be-Happy Attitudes, my left armpit.... Sure, the guy was pressed for time, but he didn't have to act like such a snot about it...
