There's already been two. In 1994, two MacGyver tv-movies aired: "MacGyver: Lost Treasure of Atlantis" and "MacGyver: Trail to Doomsday". And before you ask, nobody but MacGyver returns in these movies. However, "Trail to Doomsday" does make a reference to MacGyver's grandfather Harry. (not directly, but anyway.)

There's also plans for the WB to begin a new "Young MacGyver" television show with the dubious plot of having Mac's "nephew" who appears out of nowhere to start working at the Phoenix Foundation. The obvious explanation is that MacGyver got married at some point and his wife's nephew becomes his nephew. But after the writers spent the entire MacGyver series keeping MacGyver from ever hardly even going on a date, because some many of those female fans didn't want him to and told the producers so, it doesn't seem exactly right for MacGyver to be married. I had no problems with it when MacGyver was on the air originally, but I don't like the idea now.

It makes much more sense to use Dalton James as Sam, MacGyver's son, that was already introduced to viewers.

Also, there are plans for a MacGyver movie in theaters. Of course, you know it will have to be "updated" and probably filled with lewd and vulgar language and sexual scenes and off-color "comedy" and make a mockery of the entire series. If that's what "updated" means, I'd rather see the original series. Also, Richard Dean Anderson is not likely to reprise his role in either the movie or tv-series and might, might, come back for maybe a cameo as the Phoenix Foundation janitor or something.
That's the most former stars of series seem to get nowadays. When you watch the Hulk movie this summer, be sure to check for Lou Ferrigno as a SECURITY GUARD!!!!!!
(I'd much rather dump the CGI junk and just bring him back as the Incredible Hulk!!!!!!!)

Anyway, at least the creator of the series, Lee David Zlotoff, is in control of the projects and I guess it's his creation so he can do what he wants with it. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
Check for more news on these projects as I get it on my website at http://MacGyver.250free.com

I agree with that too. What does it have to do with MacGyver except that it stars his non-exsistant "Nephew". I Think they should at LEAST put RDA in some of the Episodes, without him it's not gonna be any good IMO. I was talking to one of my friends the other day and seggested that they use Dalton James as Sam, insted of some Nephew he doesnt even have. So I agree with that. They're gonna need to do some serious Explaining on that. Unless he got married sometime he wouldn't even have a nephew.

When I heard the new last year, I can't remeber when but I found it on the KnightRiderOnline.com Message board A lot of people (who are children of the 80s) didn't like the idea.

Now I guess there will be a new group of people who will be new to seeing a improvising Mr. heck he was a genius. If they can make this new MacGyver as good as the old it will have a chance

Richard Dean Anderson was ask if he wanted to have anything to do with the show from producing to guest staring. If you are a fan Stargate SG-1 like me then you will know he is too busy for anything new. He turned down the offer, although I think with his name down as one of the producers would help the show a lot.

Like a said I would be more than happy to settle for a TV movie with Richard Dean Anderson.

By the way Richard Dean Anderson, producers, directors & Casting, I'm available any time.......... CALL ME!
