Scene 1: Elyse and Steven are talking in the kitchen

Elyse. Hey Steven how was your day?
Steven. Oh, it was fine. They officially made Brad my buissness partner.
Elyse. Well that's good! He has come a long way.
Steven. Sure has.
Elyse. Does he have any kids?
Steven. Yeah, he has a daughter that is mallory's age. I can't remember her name though. I can't believe he has been ehre for a year. Boy, does time fly!
Elyse. He moved her from New Jersey right?
Steven Yeah.

Scene 2. Jennifer sees this girl at lunch sitting by herself.

Jennifer. Hi! My anme is Jennifer I saw you sitting by yourself, so I thought I would introduce myself.
Mackenzie. Hi. My anme is MacKenzie.
Jennifer. Are you new here? I have never seen you before.
Mackenzie. Yeah, my Dad and just moved her. We move a lot.
Jennifer. That's cool. I wish we moved. I have lived her in Columbus my whole life!
Mackenzie. Yeah, it's not all that great.
Jennifer. So, how old are you?
Mackenzie. I am twelve.
Jennifer. Really? Me too! Do you have any siblings?
Mackenzie. I have a sis--- no, I am an only child.
Jennifer. Do you want to come over this afternoon?
Mackenzie. Sure that would be great!
Jennifer. Cool!

Scene 3. Mallory and Steven are talking in the living room.

Steven. How was your day?
Mallory. Good.
Steven. I was wondering, if you knew a girl with the last name Fisher. I can't remember her first name. She is Brad's daughter.
Mallory. (thinking) Um, yeah. Her name is Chloe. I've talked to her a few times. She is kind of a loner. Her sister was murdered like four years ago.
Steven. Are you serious? That is awful. Brad never told me that.
Mallory. Yeah, she doesn't talk about it, but when she first came here, a lot of rumors were spread about it. Her Dad doesn't like talking about it either.
Steve. Okay. That's good to know. I will not emntion anything about it to Brad.

Scene 4. meanwhile Jennifer and Mackenzie are in the kitchen doing homework

Jennifer. So, you want a snack?
Mackenzie. Sure.
Jennifer. What do you want?
Mackenzie. Doesn't matter to me. How about milk to drink though?
Jennifer. All right.
(Jennifer brings the milk and cookies over to the table. She starts reading the label on the milk carton)
Jennifer Ha, I love reading these. They are really sad though.
Mackenzie. Yeah they are.
Jennifer. That's funny; this girl on here looks like a little you!
Mackenzie. Let me see.
Jennifer. Her name is Chelsea Fisher though. But if you look at the DOB she has the same birthday as you! Freaky.
Mackenzie. Yeah, really freaky. Um, listen thanks for everything, btu zI have to go. I forgot I have a dentist appointment. Bye see you tomorrow.
Jennifer. Okay, bye.

Scene 5 the family sits down to dinner.

Elyse. Jennifer you look a little spaced out tonight. Are you okay?
Jennifer. Yeah I'm just a bit tired.
Elyse. So Steven did you ask Mal if she knew Brad's kid?
Steven. Yeah. Her name is Chloe Fisher. Brad enver talks about his kdis because eone of them was murdred about four years ago.
Elyse. Oh no that's awful.
Mallory. Yeah, but they really don't like talking about it, so can we please talk about something else:
Elyse. Sure honey. But how old was she?
Mallory. She would have been twelve this past November.
Jennifer. Did you say Fisher?
Mallory. Yeah, but Jen…
Jennifer. Oh this is really freaky. Okay, I met this girl named Mackenzie today in school. She came over for a little while after and we were thirsty so we I went to get us some milk. I was reading the "missing child" thing on the carton and the picture of the girl looked like Mackenzie too. She had the same birthday as Mackenzie. November 2, 1973. I told Mackenzie and she started panicking and left. The name of the missing child was Chelsea Fisher!
Steven. Oh my goodness. Let me see the carton. It says she is from Trenton New Jersy and that is exactly where Brad's family is from. Are you sure that your friend Mackenzie is Chelsea?
Jennifer. I am not totally sure, but Mackenzie panicked and told she and her dad move a lot.
Steven. I have got an idea. Why don't you invite Mackenzie, or Chelsea over for dinner and I will invite Brad and then we will see.
Jennifer. Sounds good.

Scene 6. two days later. Jennifer and Mackenzie are sitting in the dinning room waiting for Steven and the rest of the family. They come in- with Brad.

Brad. Hi Jennifer how is it going?
Jennifer. Fine thanks.
Brad, who is your friend?
Jennifer. This is Mackenzie.
Brad. Hi, Mackenzie nice to meet you!
Mackenzie. You too!
(they look at each other for a long time)
Brad (mumbling) no it's impossible.
(they family sits and talks for awhile and then Brad asks Steven if eh can talk to him in the other room for a few minutes. He explains to Steven about what happened to Chelsea a few years back.)
Brad. I know it sounds crazy, but I really think it is her. She talks like Chelsea and looks just like her.
Steven. It is her. Jennifer and I figured it out. We invited both of you over on purpose to see if it really was true.
Brad. This is a mircle! I thought she was dead. The kidnapper made it look like she was murdered.
(they go back to the dinning room and the rest of the family gets the signal to leave, except for Jen and Mackenzie)
Brad. Uh, Mackenzie, I know this sounds odd, but I think you are my daughter.
Mackenzie. What? Are you some wacko? I have no idea what you are talking about.
Brad. Chelsea Fisher I know it's you! You are safe now, please tell me it's you.
Mackenzie. Well I am NOT Chelsea. I don't know what you've been smoking but I am to her. I have a Dad. His name is Jim Andrews and that is my Dad, NOT you.
Jennifer. Chelsea we figured out that you were the girl on the milk carton and my dad's coworker's kid.
Brad. Please Chelsea admit it.
Mackenzie. Say hypothetically, I was your so called Chelsea. What would happen? Hypothetically speaking of course.
Steven. Wel, hypothetically we would keep you in hiding here, while they police took in your kidnapper and then you would be able to go home to your real family after the kidnapper is imprisoned.
Mackenzie. Oh.
Brad. Please Chelsea. Your mom and Chloe and I have missed you so much. Just think how happy they would be to know you are alive!
Mackenzie. (starts to cry) Oh dad, your right it is me, it is me! I am Chelsea Fisher! (hugs him. They both cry)
Brad. Did he ever hurt you?
Chelsea. No, not ever. He was really good to me, dad I promise. He never hurt me.
Jennifer. What a coincidence that they both moved to Ohio.
Steven. No Jen, not a coincidence a mirlcle
