I think both shows had two nerds that were very annoying- Family Matters had Urkel and the Cosby Show had Vanessa. But if I had to pick one I would have to say Family Matters because this was a family comedy that had revolved more around the kids rather than the adults. On the Cosby Show, the grandparents were on all the time and then you would see the friends of the grandfather-LOL. So Family Matters is my pick. You always knew each episode would revolve around the kids.

Steve Urkel was Family Matters & I greatly enjoyed his antics (primarily in the early seasons) and I even actually ate Urkel-Os once (it was in the discount cart).

I guess it's because of Bill himself. He's so funny! Family Matters went too far over the top. But I did really like Family Matters when it first came on! |

I'm not really sure which one I prefer. I only liked The Cosby Show durring season 6 & 7. I also only liked Family Matters before it was all about Urkel. I guess I'll have to say The Cosby Show because it had Olivia and I thought she was hillarious.

I don't like either show, but I'd probably say the Cosby Show. None of the characters were annoying like they were on Family Matters (Laura and Urkel especially.)

What was annoying about Laura? I don't have to ask about Urkel. |

I think I like The Cosby Show better, because I thought the show had well written storylines, and I found Bill Cosby and the rest of the cast and crew entertaining, and I think there were many episodes that were filled with laughs. I didn't like Family Matters, because I found Steve Urkel annoying, and I was never really interested in the show.

But i liked how Family Matters included certain holidays in their episodes such as Halloween, Valentine's Day, and Christmas. The Cosby Show never had a Christmas tree in their living room. I don't recall a Halloween or Valentine's day episode on the Cosby show. I could be wrong. |

This is tough but I guess i'd have to say "The Cosby Show" but only in the later years. The reason I chose "The Cosby Show" is simple. There's no Urkel.I found Urkel much more annoying than anyone on "The Cosby Show" including Olivia so that's my answer.

I'd say Family Matters. I don't really even find The Cosby Show very funny. I always used to watch Family Matters, too, and it could always make me laugh. And I don't think poor Steve Urkel is annoying! LOL...well, slash that...he IS annoying, but that's what makes him funny.

I prefer Family Matters. It is one of my childhood shows that I got into back when it was on TGIF. I absolutely loved the show and I remember that I was always looked forward to it on Fridays. Also, I found the whole show to quit entertaining especially the Urkel character. I love his famous line "Do I do That?". lol
On the other hand . . . The Cosby Show doesn't interest me one bit. I find it to be very boring and the theme song of it is just plain dull and wierd. |

Family Matters because it is a MILLION times better and funnier than The Cosby Show.
