How many episodes were made? Is there a guide book available?

I believe there are 234 shows plus a pilot episode. In the pilot, Ward Cleaver is not played by Hugh Beaumont! You can find a list and description of each episode on the TV Land website. To my knowledge, there isn't yet available a complete episode guide with original airdates and accurate running order.I understand that the shows in syndication are often run very much out of the original sequence.

I've posted an episode list in production order at tvtome.com. I'm currently the lead editor for Leave It to Beaver, so if you have any info, feel free to e-mail me.

I will be adding airdates as I go through the few 1950's and 1960's TV Guides I own.
