Default Who misses the wonderful TGIF ABC Lineup from 1986-1999?

I always looked forward to seeing the ABC Friday night lineup during the 1990's-Family Matters, Step by Step, Boy Meets World,. Now on Friday nights there are no sitcoms at all. I guess it was a 90's thing. i guess this is the decade for ABC to air America's funniest home videos._LOL

I consider the WB Friday night lineup to be the "New TGIF".

It's moved to CBS during that last season where they replaced Harriet with that other woman. I always hated the 2nd Harriet. She just was't convincing enough and it felt like Carl left Harriet for another woman of the same name.

That's right-I forgot the show went to CBS in 1998

I don't miss it one bit. Those shows all sucked badly!

Except Sabrina.

LOL... I still miss TGIF. I know The WB's Friday is supposed to be very similar, but it doesn't feel the same way. I remember my whole family bunching up in the couch laughing together as we watched ALL those shows. Mr. Belvedere, Full House, Boy Meets World, Hanging W/ Mr. Cooper, and Step By Step were our favorites.

ABC should re-create TGIF with a revamped version of "Lizzie McGuire" leading it.

I miss that show, but in ways it reminded me of The Ghost & Mrs. Muir.

I don't. The true TGIF ABC lineup was in the early 70s that consist of:
  • The Brady Bunch
  • The Partridge Family
  • Nanny and the Professor
  • Room 222
  • Love American Style

That was a TGIF lineup that was off the hook and something to look forward to after a long week. I was in fourth and fifth grade at the time these shows were on its original run on Fridays. I still today have a very clear memory of these shows.

I never saw Room 222 but i think it started in 1969-i don't know how long it lasted. I would like to see it one day.

I always thought ABC didn't start calling their friday lineup TGIF until 1989 when Mr. Belvedere moved to Saturdays. I really liked Mr. Belvedere, Perfect Strangers & the early Family Matters--but that's about all.
