Default 'Survivor: The Amazon' Joins 'The Breakfast Club'

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - To recap: Two weeks ago Rob betrayed his alliance with Deena on "Survivor: The Amazon," sending the lawyer to join the others in the jury box. This gives her Judas a place at the cool kids' table, alongside Alex, Heidi and Jenna. A privilege he exploits to the fullest on Thursday (April 24) night's episode.

On Day 28, the foursome hang out and gloat about the fact that by being in the power position they don't have to do any work. While griping that Butch, Christy and Matthew really need to hop to and remedy the lack of firewood and fish situation, they joke that Rob is too busy thinking of funny things to say and Jenna needs to decide what to wear to the next challenge.

It might be funny if it wasn't true.

Jenna also takes the needy, second popular girl banana tact of enthusing that she considers her three cohorts her best friends, not just in the game but in life as well. She elaborates on this by explaining to the camera that as an only child she's close to her parents, and misses her mother who was diagnosed with cancer right before she left.

Matthew, while still maintaining residence on the super freaky side of things, shows moments of lucidity this week and points out that while they may have the rest of them outnumbered, the big four are accruing ill will from those who will ultimately decide who is going to win the game.

Reward challenge time rolls around quickly. Each survivor is given $500 for the ritual food auction and fast and furious bidding goes down for the usual cheesecake, burger and fries, steak and potato, etc. Butch scores when his plate of scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes comes with a little something extra in the form of a bedroll and pillow, but mostly it's peanut butter and chocolate going for $320.

At the end, Jeff mixes things up a bit by pulling out a stack of envelopes, each containing a letter from home for one of the castaways. Something only one person can win.

Christy, who hasn't won a single thing, gladly plunks down $340 for hers, sending Jenna into tears. Her three amigos all gather around to comfort her and Jeff shows compassion by saying that if Christy doesn't mind he will auction off another one. Christy couldn't care less so Jenna relearns the lesson that if she cries she'll get what she wants.

Side note: Heidi, trying to help out her friend after Christy won, actually bids against Jenna driving up the price of the letter.

Back at camp, Jenna whines that she's not not really surprised that Christy would do such a thing, oblivious to the fact that Christy might be homesick as well. She then rips into her letter and learns that her mother's brain tumor has been reduced by 50 percent.

Keeping with the high school theme of the episode, the next tree mail brings slambooks for each of the seven to fill out. Then at the immunity challenge, votes are taken to see if they can guess who received the most answers for each category.

Ultimately, Rob wins immunity, but not before we learn that everyone would trust Butch with their life, think Jenna uses her sex appeal as a weapon and would never survive on her own, believe Matthew is the most honest and most in need of therapy, and inexplicably have a crush on and want to see Heidi pose nude.

This puts Rob in the perfect position to once again doublecross an alliance. Getting a little cocky, Alex told Rob earlier that when it got down to the Final Four, Rob would be the next to go. Realizing that his popularity is fleeting, Rob does major spin control with Matthew, and along with Christy and Butch sends Alex packing and leaves a devastated Jenna and Heidi in his wake. Thus paving the road for some major fireworks and accusations next week.
