Post Mistakes That Slipped Past

Hi Guys,

Here are some noteable "goofs" in various episodes of Leave it to Beaver. What others can you think of?

1. In the episode where Beaver memorizes Wally's old English test and gets the same test to take at school, the teacher Mr. Blair refers to Gilbert as Mr. Harrison. Gilbert's real name is Gilbert Bates

2. When we first meet Gilbert, in the episode where he tells tall tales about his father, his last name is referred to as "Cates" not "Bates."

3. Eddie Haskell's father in early episodes is named "George Haskell" but in the Episode where Eddie spends the night, Mr. Haskell makes a phone call to the Cleavers saying that they are away on vacation. Ward calls him Frank Haskell, and Mr. Haskell is played by a totally different actor.

4. This is something that I swear I saw the other day, but need your help to verify. In the episodes where Beaver and Larry play hookey from school as well as the episode where Beaver gets stuck in Mrs. Rayburn's office thinking she has a "spanking machine" take a close look at the blackboard in Ms. Landers' classroom, it appears that BOTH episodes have the same assignments for the class written on the board! (It says, Spelling, p. 84-86 write each word four times , with the word neatly underlined.) The producers must have used that exact same shot of the blackboard for both episodes!

many inconsistencies; Ward grew up on a farm, but has also made reference to his "prep school days", and also remembers Mrs. Rayburn as his teacher. He remembers the Cooper place as being the first in Mayfield to have electricity, but he was the best kite builder in Shaker Heights.

Here's some I can think of.
1. Mrs. Rutherford's name is Geraldine in the episode "Lumpy Rutherford". Later in other episodes her name is Gwendolyn.

2. In the episode "Lonesome Beaver" Eddie says his name is Edward Clark Haskell. In the episode "The Credit Card" on Eddie's credit card his name is Edward W. Haskell.

3. In the episode "The Black Eye" Ward tells Fred Rutherford that Wally is 13 years old. In the episode "Lonesome Beaver", which comes later, Wally says he is twelve.

4. In the episode "Lost Watch" Wally says Lumpy is a Junior in high school. Wally would have been a Freshman. The next year Lumpy is a Sophomore along with Wally and Eddie.

Here's a mistake that I've known of for some time, but never posted until now. In episode #107, "Beaver's Monkey," Beaver states that he had his tonsils removed. But, later on they had an episode entirely devoted to Beaver's tonsils. In episode #139, "Beaver's Tonsils," Beaver becomes sick one morning, and the doctor comes and says that he may need his tonsils out. In the end, it turns out that he doesn't need them out because they healed beyond expectations, and Beaver is terribly disappointed because he won't get all the presents, and visits in the hospital he were promised to get. But this is just another one of the oddities from the series.

<<<The next year Lumpy is a Sophomore along with Wally and Eddie.>>>

This was explained in an earlier show when Eddie informed June that Lumpy had been held back a year!
