I just got a few books at the library on how to write a resume. Well, one of them is called Your First Resume Third Edition. In the book there's a chapter on how to write letters to companies for different things. Well, for the examples some of the names they have signed at the end are Hugh Beaumont, Anthony Dow, Edward J. Haskell (wasn't it "W" on the show?) and Barbara Billingsley!! I thought that was kind of funny the author just slipped that in there. The rest of the names for examples don't look familiar to me at all. Anyways, the book is due in 7 days, so I better stop laughing about the LITB names and get working on my resume!

I remember that you were nervous last year about a job interview at a store, I think it was a deli, and then you ended up getting it. Do you still work there? What kind of a job are you looking for these days? </Blatantly Off Topic> |

BrandonS, I'm surprised you remembered me talking about that. Yes, I still work at the deli, but I'm not getting enough hours. They have like 20 or 22 ladies working in the deli and on average there's only like 2-4 women at a time working there. They don't need that many people! (The place is old fashioned. Been around for 75 years- all women work in the deli department and all men in the meat department and for cleaning). So, I think I should get a second job. That's why I'm working on a resume. For someone who's only had one job so far, my resume is pretty long, but I did put all experience and activities I did in high school. There's a job at my local newspaper. It's to assist people and do typing. It pays A LOT more than my job now and it says that being a good speller is a plus- I've always been a good speller. Well, I'll be surprised if I get that job!

Wow, it sounds like quite a deli. Actually, it's making me hungry just to think about it. Yes, I remember that you had been very anxious about interviewing at the deli and then were so happy when you got the job. I admire you for being willing to work two jobs. Resume writing is an important skill and it's good for you to start to get practice. Good luck with your job search.

the only reason I really want to work 2 jobs now is because I'm not ready to go back to school yet. I finally got some time off after I graduated from high school last June. After going to school for 15 years, I knew it was time for a break!
