Question getting drafted

The recent uproar with celebrities making anti-war comments, had me thinking. If the US ( for whatever reason ) had to bring back the military draft could they "draft" celebrities.

My cousin says no , they will use their fame and of course money to get themselves out.

I say yes, if they could draft ELVIS, they should have no problem doing the same with the members of Linkin Park or the many of million dollar sports stars who are of draft age.

Of course they could. Celebrities are no different from the rest of us, with the exception of their money. They ARE people too, ya know. I hate many celebrities who have that "I'm holier than thou" attitude who think they are God.

That makes me think of Lisa....*hacks*

I think they would do it just so it would start something...."Ooooh Matt Damon got drafted! RIOT! RIOT! RIOT!"

Talking ahah.

Sometimes celebrities are treated better, but in some cases, not. That guy Robert Drake got bail for murder, $1.5 Million or something, it's unfair he got bail, but a regular person wouldn't pay that much. They're also critiscised, and when are acused of something, it's guilt till proven innocent, and even afterwards still guilty.

Can they draft women? I'd love to see that Bitch J-Lo get drafted. Though I'm against war, it'd be funny if Susan Sarandon was drafted. If Goldie Hawn got drafted, they could do Banger Sisters 2: Band Bang. Or her co-star from Thelma, then they'd do another film, not a seqel (!) more like Runaway bride's done, with the same stars. Also- draft Michael Moore, Ben affleck and Michael Douglas (is he still young enough? If not jusr Draft Catherine)

A lot of celebs would probably use their money and influence to try to get out of being drafted, but I don't think all of them would succeed.

Nope. But it would be funny to see some of these overly-pampered princesses, the kind that will only eat red M&M's and won't walk to a car, have to do that.

What is the age-limit for the draft, assuming one would happen again?

First off, the celebrity would have to be of draft age which excludes many of the anti-war celebrities, who are mostly above draft age which I believe 32.

I imagine too that if the government wanted to pick-and-choose, they might choose a lot of the more outspoken young celebrities who are against the war.

As for Jennifer Lopez, from what I understand she has already served in the military. Yup, you heard right. She apparently served sometime in the late 80's/early 90's but mind you, this is what I heard on a radio talk show.

If you go back to te draft, and us regular people are being drafted, then celebrities SHOULDN'T be any different, but it would be different. Can you see Ben Afflack in Iraq fighting in the War? Yeah...right. Like that would ever happen. They would definatley use their money to get out of it, although its not fair.

There were quite a few actors who served in WWII. I'm not sure though if they were drafted or if they enlisted on their own.
