Default Storylines that the Writers started and never finished

These are storylines that the writers forgot to finish.

Picture of Black Jesus-It was said that it was going to remain on the wall but it's never seen again.

J.J in the 12th Grade-J.J decided to join his friends in the 12th grade but we never hear anything about him passing the 12th grade and receiving his diploma.

Michael attending a white school-Michael finally decided to be bused to a all white school but we never hear anything about him remaining at that school or leaving the school.

Florida Going to night school-After James decides to join Florida in Night school, we never hear anything about whether she completed night school.

James meeting his father for the first time-When james met his dad for the first time, we never see his dad again until after he was killed off. There was never another episode with James and his dad in the same scene after that first episode.

Carl proposing to Florida-When Florida returns in the 1977-78 season, we never hear anything about what happen to Carl.

Solomon, you're right!!! I agree with you that there are a lot of gaps and stuff that the writers forgot to put in what happened in each episode you mentioned. It was the 1978-1979 season when Esther Rolle came back from leaving Good Times in the 1976-1977 season. She wasn't seen at all during the 1977-1978 season, only mentioned on the phone by J.J. that her and Carl were on their honeymoon. Also,Carl did have cancer and it mentioned in one of the final episodes of the 1976-1977 season. Perhaps maybe he died from his cancer, but yet it was never mentioned at all when Florida came back in the first episode of the 1978-1979 season. Another question, does Good Times qualify for the "Jump The Shark" award because of all of the mistakes the show made during its run??? I believe it did after the 1976-1977 season!!!

They should have also had some episodes that followed up on Florida's former job with Maude. They seemed to have just left that part of her life hanging when the spin-off began.

Well GeeBee you have just mentioned that Good Times is not a spinoff and didn't even realize it-LOL. There was no follow up because there wasn't a such thing as Florida being Maude Maid on Good Times, only on Maude.

Nah, I saw a documentary on TVLand that called "Good Times" a spin-off from "Maude". They just neglected to follow up on it like they did with so many of the episode plots.

Yeah I have to call TV Land and let them know that Good Times is no spinoff. Thanks for letting me know.

You should be old enough to know why her former job wasn't mentioned

I'm just laughing so hard because you don't realize some of the things you say supports my argument. They didn't mention Florida's former job-I WONDER WHY-LOL Plus we are talking about different writers. Not the writers for Maude
