Have you noticed that when Beaver addresses Ward when he gets in trouble, you can tell he's lying when he starts by saying "Well..I...?"

I think that's becuase back then, they were taught that telling a lie to stay out of trouble was very wrong, and he never had perfected a way for getting around his conciance. Now aday's kids are soooo used to lying, you never know when they are, and when they aren't!

And MAN have I been gone for a while!!!
