Default Series Finale in my opinion

I never saw the last few seasons, since I lost touch of the show because it got more adult-like. However, just now I watched Pt II of the final episode, and I really liked how they tied up the characters. Everyone got good time equally, which I thought wasn't possible.

I was pissed at first when they were like "Now we're on our way home". I was afraid that was the end of the episode, which was pissy, but then they did the ending credits, and this was a good thing to do. They had that new young kid, Carl, Eddie,Steve, Harriet, and then Laura, welcome Steve home.

I liked the last minute of the episode. It's nice to know that there was a real closure to Carl and Steve (He was happy that Steve was becoming his son-in law), and that Laura didn't want Steve to go into space ever again which he agreed to. When they kissed, that made the final episode great! It was good that it ended there like that. Even though another season coulda been possible, I liked the ending. At least they ended it in a way everyone would be happy.

As for Eddie, his character had it's closure with becoming a police officer, getting shot, surviving due to Carl's bullet proof vest, and getting the support form Harriet to become a great officer.

The new Harriet completely sucks. She is not like the old one. The old one was more stressful to Carl. She really knew how to push Carl around, which is not shown when the new Harriet does it.

Finally, I am upset that there was no Mother Winslow in the finale. What was her last episode? What was Richie's last episode? Rachel's last episode?

Rosetta LeNoire "Mother Estelle Winslow"'s last episode was the "Deck the Malls" Christmas episode on 12/19/1997. As for Rachel (Telma Hopkins).

The last episode for JoMarie Payton-Noble (France) is "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do (1/16/1998). She left because she felt she was not playing "the same Harriette" as she was in the beginning of the show. JudyAnn Elder played Harriette in the 9 episodes remaining. JudyAnn Elder began in episode #207.

The last episode was never meant to be the series finale. The cast and crew were told to finish filming the season by March and get ready for another season. The 1oth season would have featured the wedding of Steve and Laura. However it was learned that CBS had the sets for the show destroyed and that's when the cast knew the series was over.

I don't know with the other questions about Richie.

They should have done another season. I would have loved to see Laura and Steve get married. Why did CBS do that?

The show ranked at #108 on CBS, I'm not surprised they canceled it, I'm just surprised the said there would be a 10th season.
