I for one think she is very pretty, a very cute girl. Why should she get a nose job? Obviously she has no trouble getting a job on television. Nobody should have to alter their looks with surgery to conform to what others think is pretty or beautiful. That is what makes all of us unique. I highly doubt you are perfect, and neither is anybody else. Brittany Snow has a big scar on her forehead, should she have had surgery to fix that? No.

That is one thing I don't understand. Why are people so concerned with their looks that they think they need to do unnatural things to alter them? I think Roxanne is very pretty, too (though not as pretty as Meg). My best friend's mom thinks she looks jewish (not as an insult), and wonders why she's at a catholic school. She's kidding of course. That's funny- I never noticed the scar on Meg's forehead.

Roxanne is Polish-American, isn't she? Her last name sounds Polish. I wonder if they're ever going to bring that up.

I noticed that, too. Her last name is deliberately ethnic sounding.

Personally, I don't think that she should change a thing. She's a pretty teenage girl, and there's no doubt in my mind that she will grow into a beautiful woman.

first off I am jewish so, i think I know what I am talkin bout no not cuz, of the nose, anyways the sterotype people have for the so-called "Jewish Nose" (which I dont have and im jewish) has like a bump in it, and Roxanne doesnt even have it, I personally just think that between the combination of her last name on the show and her darker hair that she looks more Jewish then Catholic, but I am not sterotyping by her noes or whatever, so I am sorry if it comes off that way |

Vanessa Lengies stars as Roxanne Bojarksi – whose bold eagerness to push the envelope and never-say-die attitude earn the star-struck teen and her best friend (Brittany Snow) spots dancing on the popular “American Bandstand” in NBC’s new drama “American Dreams.”
“She’s definitely outgoing,” says Lengies about her character. “I admire her dedication to her friend (Meg Pryor, played by Snow). She’ll do anything, even if it means being a little bad.” Born and raised in Montreal, Canada,Lengies has always had a love for the arts. “I wanted to act pretty much since I was able to speak,” she says. She began acting professionally at the age of 9, appearing in cable family shows and rendered her voice several animated characters. Lengies’ television credits include regular roles on the children’s cable series “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” and “Sponk,” as well as a co-host role on the science program “Popular Mechanics for Kids.” She also starred in the cable film “Ratz,” with Ron Silver and Kathy Baker. Along with her television appearances, Lengies has starred in a variety of animated series, including “For Better or for Worse,” “Little Lulu,” “Tales of the Great Bunny,” “Arthur” and “Calillou.” Away from “American Dreams,” Lengies divides her time between snowboarding, a love for arts/crafts and redecorating, event planning, dancing and singing. When not shooting her series, she lives in Montreal with her mother and father, where she has recently completed high school. Her birthday is July 21. it says in her bio she was born and raised in canada. Maybe ehr ancestors are polish though... I'm not too sure. |

It's quite possible that Roxanne's family converted to Catholicism a few generations ago to prevent persecution. Besides, just about anyone can be Catholic, not just people with light hair and light eyes. My family is Chinese and we're Catholic. Italians have dark hair and dark eyes, and Italians are, for the most part, Catholic. It's also quite possible that Roxanne's dad is Jewish and her mom's Catholic (Judaism is matrilenial, meaning that it is passed on from the mother's side.)
