LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - CBS is taking a page from rival NBC's sweeps playbook and upsizing the season finales of two of the network's most popular shows.
The season-ending episodes of "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "CSI: Miami" will each go 15 minutes longer than their usual time. Both finales are scheduled for Monday, May 19. NBC has "supersized" episodes of some of its shows, usually its Thursday comedies, several times in the past few seasons. CBS has not yet applied a fast-food metaphor to its strategy. The "Raymond" finale will feature the long-time-coming nuptials of Robert (Brad Garrett) and his fiancee Amy (Monica Horan). In the grand tradition of sitcom weddings, however, there will be complications, in this case resulting from the fact that their families can't stand each other. The episode will run from 9 to 9:45 p.m. ET on the 19th. The 75-minute "CSI: Miami" finale will follow immediately after, starting 15 minutes earlier than its usual 10 p.m. time. In that episode, Horatio Caine (David Caruso) and his team are called in to track two fugitives who make a daring escape from prison. "Still Standing," which normally airs between "Raymond" and "CSI: Miami," ends its first season Monday, May 12. |
