Red face Ward and June too nosy?

Has anyone ever noticed that whenever Wally or the Beaver had a phone call that June and Ward were always listening within earshot? Those kids did not have much privacy

Yeah would'nt they be like sitting on the sofa while Wally or beaver were on the phone with their friends? Then they'ed want to know what the phone convo. was about. But I still like Ward and June.

Yeah, I've noticed it. My parents are kind of nosy, but not as bad as June and Ward were.

My mother would do the same thing and it irritated me to no end. Even when I was like 17/18 years old whenever someone would call for me my mom would answer and say "May I ask who's calling?" Talk about embarrrasing.

I've never been much of a phone person, I absolutely hate the telephone, but I'd have a few friends call me and I'd get on the phone and mom and dad would ask who it was. I'd be on the phone and they'd actually ask while I was talking. It is embarrasing. I won't argue with you there, not one bit.

LOL!

The question is was there ever a time when June didn't listen to a conversation! One time Wally is on the phone and says he has to hang up cuz June was in there. He does and June says,

"Wally, you don't have to stop talking just because I came in. I wouldn't dream of listening to your conversation."

Her next sentence is, "Who was that you were talking to?"

This is one of the things that bugged me about Ward and June ever since I started watching the show regularly. They always had to know who it was that called, and if they had a chance, they listened in to the conversation. The boys never got their privacy in regards to the telephone!

Ward and June really did keep up with the phone calls. It must not have bothered the boys too much because in the episode where Beaver was on the talk show and asked his opinion about teens having their own phones, he said they shouldn't.

June and Ward were doing their job as loving parents. That's why Wally and Bev turned out so well.

Listen to all the announcements on tv now, about watching what the kids are doing and who they are talking to on their puters.

June would probably have freaked out, if there were chat-rooms back then.

Possibly, if someone had asked questions like June did, maybe poor "Whitey" would still be with us.

I feel that sometimes Ward and June are a little to nosy. When Wally or Beaver are on the phone, they listen in on their conversation which I feel is an invasion of their personal privacy.

There was also the episode when Beaver kept a diary and Ward and June read it. It wasn't any of their business.

I would kill my parents if they ever did that to me.
