If were you given the choice to have a Lucy channel, and of course, you chose to have one, what stuff would you put on the channel and what would the line-up look like? Also, what would you call the channel?

The Lucy broadcasting system would have all 500 of her tv shows and 80 or so movies as well as every guest shot she ever did on games and talk shows, also, anything related to her would be shown, references on OTHER shows, similar themed shows and while we're at it, all Desilu produced and filmed shows would be on here too!

Yeah, put stuff on there that she wasn't in, but had a hand in. And definitely game shows!!

Is The Mothers In Law good? If it was ever screened in the UK it was back in the sixties, and I don't think I've seen so much as a screen shot!

Okay, so Desi TV -

We'll start with ILL in the mornings, 'cause I like it then. That's when I first saw it, years ago! Beginning at, say, 06:00. Followed by any Bob Hope stuff, of the same era ideally, that still exists. Afternoon movies - either Lucy stuff, Desi stuff or tenuously linked stuff - Bob Hope, Bill Holden, that sort of thing.

Evenings - Desilu stuff, naturally, but also lots of music. Cuban music, big band, jazz - maybe Santana and Ricky Martin, for the tenuous Spanish link! Any old documentaries, nice new interviews with Jess Oppenheimer and anybody else that can be dug up (figuratively speaking!). I'd shoot new documentaries talking about early TV, fifties sit-coms, sci-fi etc. Plus episodes, obviously. A "What Desi and Lucy might have watched at home" strand, just to indulge my love of old black and white adventures serials!

Wouldn't be a 24 hour channel, though I'm a 24 hour person myself! Close down around midnight, after a late film and a few more episodes of ILL.

And not forgetting a station-wide ban on Lucy's post Desi comedies!

I don't know about The Mothers-in-Law. I've never had to opportunity to see it.

The Mothers in Law was a very good situation comedy with Eve Arden and Kaye Ballard that only lasted one and a half seasons because it was up against the Ed Sullivan show. It was quite good, and Desi even appeared on it a few times.
