Ok I went on a Seinfeld website and You are all right Wayne Knights Character was simply known as Newman but we assume that Newman is his last name but it was never revealed on the show whether Newman was his first or his last name his character was simply called Newman

He was called Norman in an episode once, but I think that was just a mistake.

That was the episode where Newman is kicked out of the mail truck by Kramer. When he is running from the farm house the farmer's daughter calls him Norman. I think she was just not too bright and got his name wrong.

The farmer's daughter was in The Bottle Deposit (2) #132, she does call him Norman.
Many sources say the blondie actress (Karen Lynn Scott) playing Susie (the... ahem... proverbial farmer's daughter) probably just blew the line, & they kept the take for shnits & giggles. That's one explanation. Most everyone says his name is just Newman. Re: his if it's first or last.... no real proof. His postal supervisor once refers to him as "Postal Employee Newman," (The Junk Mail #161), that kind of says it's his last to me, but I don't think it's very conclusive. I guess figure he's kind of like "Cher."
