Default Nancy McKeon needs an agent to represent her in the future

It seems that actors and actresses that have agents that represent them always land parts, especially if they get screwed in the past. But celebrities that have no agent to represent them at all always finds it hard to get work in hollywood. And yes, Nancy McKeon has no agent at all according to IMDB and other sources. And yes, Nancy McKeon needs an agent real bad. According to IMDB, before landing the part on The Division, she hasn't acted in over 2 years. That's bad, ya know. That's the very result of having no agent representing you. And what I've been hearing on other posts about them saying they may be killing off Jinny and cancelling the show, Nancy McKeon may need an agent from a talent agency really bad to represent her. Don't you all agree?

Maybe she likes it that way. Like she's acting, doing what she loves, making money...but she's not having the papparazzi(sp?) all up in her face, ya kno? She's maintaining her privacy to some extent.

Not everybody who has an agent is gonna have the papparazi following them everywhere!!!

And the reason that Nancy McKeon needs an agent to represent her is that she hasn't had an acting gig for over 2 years before landing the part on The Division as Jinny Exstead, and if she gets either killed off or the show gets cancelled, she may not have another acting gig for quite a long while, maybe another 2 years+.
And if she had an agent and either her character got killed off or the show got cancelled, she would have an extremely good chance of landing another role immediately. You see what I'm saying here? Agents always help actors and actresses get good or decent roles.

The reason Nancy had not acted in (2) years b4 TD is because she was directing her own movie called "The Awakening" which she spent her own $ to create.

She is also directing a few eppies of TD this season. Maybe she has more interest in directing than acting when she is finished starring on TD. Her brother Philip doesn't act anymore and prefers to be behind the camera...maybe that is also Nancy's eventual preference although I personally hope that isn't the case since I have enjoyed her many acting roles.

It just seems to me based on interviews that NM is not really interested in making the Hollywood scene. She even sold her L.A. home and has been quoted as saying she would like to eventually buy a home on the East Coast.

I have no inside info so I really don't know why she doesn't have an agent. I believe her Father takes care of her finances so she doesn't have a need for those services.

On the E FOL special they interviewed her former agent but they didn't say why he doesn't represent her anymore. Anyway, I'm sure she has her reasons and it's hard to knock her especially considering her current success on TD. You've got to admire someone who does it 'their way.'

Ok...in response to ur first statement. I never said having an agent would get the papparazzi in her face...but it's a possibility. Agents are out to get what they can. An agents gonna try to get her on something that is more popular, therefore making more money, therefore more money for the agent, therefore more likeliness for papparazzi. See where I'm going here?

And like they said, she WAS directing in those two years, but even if she wasn't...she's been working for 34 years, the women deserves a break. Maybe she doesn't want another role immediately. Maybe after TD (which I hope isn't NEtime soon) she'll work on finding a family? I mean she's 37...the clock's ticking.

Don't get me wrong here...I'd love for her to start a new role if TD fails...*prays to God it doesn't*...she's like my favorite actress, but ya gotta see it from her point of view. There's always two sides to things.

She's more motivated than that. I think if TD fails, she'll probably land another role. Having an agent would help even more, ya know. I've read on one of her chats that lifetime had, I think it was on july, 2001, that she said that she's just concentrating on the Division right now, but hopefully would land another project sometime soon, most likely acting in something else.

And having a baby, raising a family and living on the other side of the country doesn't deferr someone from acting, ya know.
Have you all ever heard of local or state run film commisions? Examples include the Utah state film commision, The North Texas Film Commision, The Florida state Film Commision, just to name a few examples of local or state run film commisions for Hollywood movies, films and t.v. series. So even if NMK does move to lets say North Carolina, she can star in movies or T.V. series that are shot in that state thru the North Carolina film commision. Look what family man Chuck Norris and his wife did while they were living in Texas, they still did a major T.V. series in that same area via the Texas State film commision. Just because someone moves to another state and raises a family doen't mean that they have to give up acting, ya know!!!

I'm pretty sure Nancy has an agent. All actors in Hollywood do, and Nancy couldn't have achieved the success she has without one.

What makes you think she doesn't have an agent?

According to the internet movie database, Nancy McKeon has no agent at all. Hell, she doesn't even have her picture posted on her database either on the imdb. And yes, every once in a while, the imdb will have AGENCY or AGENT highlighted for all actors both alive and dead, even for those no longer in the acting business. That's only to advertise all the available agencies throughout Hollywood and other cities where filming is done.
So no, Nancy McKeon doesn't have an agent at all. And yes, Nancy McKeon does need an agent.

I still (respectfully) disagree.

1) You can't get an audition in Hollywood without an agent. Even unknowns have agents.

2) Just because it's not on IMDB doesn't mean anything. About 80% of the stuff on IMDB is inputted by fans anyway, not agents.

3) Just because we haven't heard of her agent doesn't mean she doesn't have one. We all know Nancy is VERY private about her life.

It's possible that she doesn't have one, but I don't think we have enough info to know that. I think she does have an agent. I'm sure Miranda or Jeanie would know.

I completely agree with what you said, especially that Miranda and Jeanie probably know.

I wouldnt know if she has an agent or not, and why should it matter? She's famous now, she's costarring in an awesome drama that we all hope isnt ending anytime soon, and she doesnt have to worry about people walking in on her in a public bathroom and taking pictures. Unless she wants that....who knows?

Well, I guess that is cleared up. Thanks Jeanie.

Really, though. As smart as Nancy has been about her career. If she didn't have an agent, she would have the intelligence to represent herself of something. People don't get where she is without making good/wise decisions.

Regardless of whether she has an agent or not....I believe she must have some sort of representation...

NM is a very smart lady. I just re-watched her IP yesterday. Even Eric Roberts said she was a borderline genius. Anyway, we shouldn't have to worry about whether or not she has an agent since she is smart enough to take care of these things herself.
