Cool Mother Kelp and Other One Shots

Anyone here see likable HD one-shots you wished they'd had more often?
My fave was Mother Kelp (Billie Bird) whose carryings on had often been lamented by Howard (and explained away by Marion) but, apart from some uncreditted person calling from offstage once, we never SAW her until the Final Season episode when Marion and Joanie help her move and she's so impossible that Marion FINALLY tells her off! Still, she WAS a likable character and Miss Bird played her with such insight that it wasn't hard to imagine why Marion had been such a 'people pleaser'( to get her mother off her back). Even at the end when they made up, she STILL refused to pretend to like Howard! LOL
I kinda think they could have used her before. Can anyone imagine shows in which. .
1. Mother Kelp gets together with Grandpa Sean Cunningham (Danny Thomas[!]) and after fighting, they conspire to get their respective kids to jump through their hoops.
2. Mother Kelp can't stand Lori Beth in spite of ALL LB's attempts to win her over. Think about it, from the time Richie first met her until her last appearance, ALL his friends and family LIKED and accepted her without the slightest hesitation but it may have been funnier for her to have run into a relative who didn't!
3. Mother Kelp starts a cousin war by comparing Roger's academic success with Richie's screenwriting and it's up to Marion and her unnamed sister [Roger's mother-Phyllis[?] to settle things!
4.Mother Kelp has located Chuck but refuses to tell the Cunninghams WHERE he is unless they pay her a huge finders fee!
5. Mother Kelp gets Howard and LoriBeth REALLY jealous and upset by LIKING Chachi!

Anyway, what one-shots would you like to have seen back?

I liked Fonzie's cousin Angie. I would have liked to have seen him a little more.

What's your thoughts about Fonzie's half brother Arthur (Artie) from the last season?

I guess you're asking me so I'll answer. He wasn't all that developed and, while I CAN imagine him and Fonzie eventually having a friendly brotherly bond, I can't say it would have been funny to have it *depicted*. I'd have liked for Fonzie to have mentioned how things were progressing between the two brothers but NOT having Artie back. He was a bit of a wet smack IMO!
Also, I thought it interesting that Artie held a lot less antagonism towards their deadbeat dad- but he DID get to have him around more than Fonz. Still, I think BOTH of them should have been angry at Fonzarelli,Sr. for giving them redundant names- as though he could pretend one son didn't exist when naming the other AND that his younger son didn't have a brother!

I would liked to have seen a sequel, of sorts, to the episode when Marion tells off Mother Kelp. Marion ends up feeling guilty after yelling at her, and tries EVERYTHING to make up for it. Mrs. C even says she is sorry, but Mother Kelp is still her rotten, spolied, self - and at the end of the episode, Marion loses her temper once again - and takes back her apology, telling the old bat to "Sit On It!"

Mrs. C even says she is sorry, but Mother Kelp is still her rotten, spoiled, self. Howard, seeing how badly his wife is being treated, just gets fed up with the whole thing, and tells Kelp to "Sit On It!" At first, Marion becomes very upset with Howard for talking her mom like that, but then realizes that Mother Kelp is nothing but an old grouch. Marion then yells, HOWARD'S RIGHT, MOTHER KELP, SIT ON IT!" Roll end credits.

I have two....Rita Wilson's character from season 11, the girl at the singles resort that Fonzie reads to. (Can't remember her name.) She was such a perfect girl for him I can't beleive they went to such lengths to create a scene with such chemistry and then we never see or hear about her again. Also, I loved Danny. I thought he was a great addition,nd if HD had gone on another season, he would've been a great character. (Danny Ponce was a great child actor. Very charismatic and very "there", if ya know what I mean.)

I Agree with Angie. He was a great character and was alot different than Chachi. I Think if they kept Angie and still added Chachi it would have been great. Angie was a Jynx so he was funny

I like your ideas. Especially #2 and the last.

It's true, everyone loved Lori Beth, but if anyone could find anything wrong with family who wasn't blood, it'd likely be Mother Kelp. Throwing Chachi in the mix stirs it up further. Then Howard would have to come in and give one of his fatherly speeches. Mother Kelp ends up accepting LB, but not Howard. The show ends on a normal happy note.

Sounds like a good episode to me. Why not write it out?
