Question Please Help Me Catch A Killer

I wrote to Johnny cause he said he had a lot of eposodes on tape, but he hasen't gotten back to me yet. Anyway, I got to thinking that maybe one of you have seen the episode that I am desperately searching for. I hope you can help.

I KNOW I KNOW THIS GUY.........

When I was younger I saw an eposode of unsolved mysteries that was about a white guy that ran a car off the road. They said he was probally a racist and ran the car off the road cause the kids in it were black. They were coming home from thier prom and I know that one of them died, if not more. It showed a sketch of the white killer and I remember thinking that he looked exactly like a guy my brother knew, but I never gave much more thought to it. ( I live on a little island and this had happened somewhere in the states I think, so I thought, no way, it couldn't possibally be him)
Years later my brother got drunk and told me that his friend had told him he had been on unsolved mysteries, wanted for murder. He told my brother that he had lived in many places in the US and Canada, had robbed 2 banks and had run those kids off the road on their prom night.
My brother said he didn't know anything else about it, and has kept his mouth shut tightly to this day. His friend, (the one I believe is the killer), has been in and out of jail his whole life, for assult, fraud, burglary and countless other charges. I can't tell you his name, because I will fear for my safety.

If I had know for sure when I saw the show that it was him I would have payed more attention to details, but I didn't. Did any of you see this episode? There was one witness that saw everything and he said that the white guy in the other car was the ugliest dude he ever saw (if you saw this guy you would agree!)

I looked up old shows on the episode list and I think it's episode 57 that aired in Jan, 1990. It's the only one out of all of them that seemed to fit what I was looking for, but unfortunately it did not give much detail.

If you have seen an episode like the one I described, do you know the name of the person that was killed and where he was from?

I know the killer, and I really want to help the victims family get justice. I only wish I had started this search years ago, but I won't dwell on that now, what matters now is that this guy is put behind bars for what he did.

I looked over some of the posts, you seem like a lovely group of people, I really hope you can help.

I remember seeing that story. Unfortunately I only remember seeing it once and don't remember any names of the people involved or where it took place. One thing I do remember was the guy that ran the kids off the road was driving a Monte Carlo.

Default thankyou

Thanks for the quick response. Every little bit of info helps, I really appreciate it!
I wish I could get in touch with the family of the victim, I bet they must think that the killer will never be found. I know who the killer is, and I can't help cause I can't find them. It's very frustrating!
Monte Carlo, my brothers friend did own a monte carlo but he also owned alot of different cars, he used to steal them.

I am really a good person, by the way, I am nothing like my brother and his friends, just wanted you all to know that .

HI

Its the first time that i see something like this in this forum, its great that our common interest can be useful for somebody.

You could help emailing your info to UM or the police from a dummy email address (if you dont want them to know your ID), i think there has been a lot of cases solved for anonymous callers.

Dont worry for what we can think of you, youre a good person since you want to help the victims.

Good Luck.

Thanks to those of you who have repiled to this thread so quickly. I sent a tip into the UM email address and I sent an email to the police department. One of your members emailed me off line and she thought the crime happened in greensboro NC so I emailed the police there. I hope everything works out. I hope I have the info they need to solve the case.
I'll keep you all posted. you've been a great help to me, more than you know.

Hi Lisa.

I remember this case was from one of the earlier seasons. I can't remember the victim's names, but I do remember that the car the killer was driving was a monte carlo. (the car was light blue in the Unsolved Mysteries segment, but I'm not sure if was in real life or not.) Also, there was a woman in the passenger seat. After they caused the accident, they both got out of the monte carlo and stared at the upside down car with the four boys in it for a minute or so. Then, being the cowards they were, got back in their car and sped off.

And a correction, the 4 boys weren't returning from the prom. They were going Christmas shopping. It happened in December, but I'm not sure about the year. Some time in the 80's obviously.

I wish I could remember more details about the case, but I haven't seen it in a while and it's one of the very few Unsolved Mysteries segments that I don't have on tape. If I see it again, I'll be sure to come back here and post. And if I remember anything later, I'll be sure come back here with the info.

I admire your heart, desire and courage to help with this case. I hope everything works out. Keep us posted.

Thanks to everyone who has responded so far! You are truly a wonderful group of people. One of your members has sent me the tape of the episode in the mail. So I should get it this week. I still haven't heard from the police or UM in regards to my emails, but I'll keep you posted. Thanks!

Also. I would like to remove my name from the posts, but I had trouble doing it. If one of the Mods can do it great. I should have used a different user name I suppose. Well, anyway, can you see what can be done? I think in the long run it is kind of dangerous for me to have my name here.

Thanks again to all of you!!!!!!!

Hi! Just wanted to let you guys know I've been in contact with Ms. X concerning the case where she might know who ran those guys off the road resulting in their injuries and the death of one of them. She said she received a call from a sheriff in North Carolina and they talked for a while. He was going to pass on the information to the investigator and hopefully try to get an arrest. He said he'd let her know if there was an arrest and if I hear any more information I will pass it on to you!
