It's About Life
By: Meghan

~In Edna’s Edibles~
(Jo is working the cash register, Natalie is in the kitchen helping Mrs. Garrett and Tootie is helping a customer. Blair is out with a new boyfriend)
Jo: Will Blair get back here? I’m going to make sure this comes out of her paycheck. Natalie will you come out here?
Natalie: (Walks out of the kitchen) What’s up Jo?
Jo: Watch the register I need to talk to Mrs. G.
Natalie: Ok.
Jo: Thanks. (Heads in the kitchen right as Blair and her new boyfriend walk in)
Blair: I want you all to meet Bram, my new boyfriend.
Natalie/Tootie: Hi.
Bram: Hi.
Blair: Where’s Jo?
Natalie: Talking to Mrs. G. (Jo comes out carrying the inventory book)
Blair: Jo I want you to meet Bram, my new boyfriend.
Jo: Hey. (Doesn’t even look up from the book)
Blair: Well I’m going to change out of these good clothes. I’ll be right back Bram.
Bram: Ok.
Jo: (Puts the book down) Natalie, Tootie, go help Mrs. G in the kitchen.
Natalie: Ok. (Leaves)
Tootie: Surely she doesn’t need both of us.
Jo: Tootie, go talk to her about the check thing.
Tootie: All right. (Leaves)
Bram: Jo is it really you.
Jo: Yea it’s me. How did Blair drag you under her spell?
Bram: I’m not under anyone’s spell.
Jo: Sure.
Bram: I haven’t seen you since the day before you left right before our junior year in high school. Now it’s what sophomore year in high school?
Jo: I know I wanted to go back home and see you but every time I tried something came up.
Bram: I came here to see you. Blair just happened to come up.
Jo: Do you really like her?
Bram: She’s ok, but I’m not too sure of the whole boyfriend thing.
Jo: Oh, I can’t believe it’s been four years.
Bram: Yea, way too long. Um, do you want to come over hang out?
Jo: Yea, will you wait outside just incase Blair comes back.
Bram: Yea, sure.
Jo: Ok, I’m going to go tell Mrs. G. I’m going.
Bram: Will she care?
Jo: No she wont I’ve got in plenty of overtime for the week.
Bram: Ok. (Goes outside as Jo goes in the kitchen)

~In the Kitchen~
Jo: Mrs. G. I’m going out.
Mrs. Garrett: Ok, since you’ve worked overtime, you got enough to take the whole week off.
Jo: I won’t give you that.
Mrs. Garrett: I wouldn’t let you.
Jo: Well thanks I’ll be back for dinner. (Leaves)

~Outside~
Bram: You got it?
Jo: I got enough overtime to take the rest of the week off.
Bram: Wow.
Jo: Yea, let’s go before Blair sees us?
Bram: Good idea.

Since I haven't been around a lot lately I'll give you a lot. Now this is way more then I usually post. Well you'll see for yourself.

~In Bram’s Hotel Room~
(Jo and Bram are sitting on the couch talking about old times and filling each other in on recent events)
Jo: I can’t believe we’ve been best friends for twenty years.
Bram: Yea do you remember when we used to cut school together?
Jo: Yea, our mom’s would call in and make up an excuse for us.
Bram: They had to use everyone in the book.
Jo: They probably did.
Bram: Those were the good days.
Jo: Yea, (Looks at him) Do remember our first kiss?
Bram: I’d never forget that. It was the day you left for Peakskill.
Jo: I wasn’t expecting it either. I had my bags on my bike and I dropped by to say bye and you sweped me up in your arms and kissed me.
Bram: Right. Think it could happen again?
Jo: No I don’t want to leave you again.
Bram: I don’t want to lose you again.
Jo: Well we agree about something. We don’t want to lose each other again.
Bram: We didn’t write or call.
Jo: I called once, nobody was home. I left a message you never called me back.
Bram: I never got the message. I guess Jake must have deleted it.
Jo: Your brother Jake? I thought he liked me.
Bram: That’s why. He knew that since we were best friends he didn’t have a chance.
Jo: Are we still best friends?
Bram: Of course we are.
Jo: Nothing will ever change that.
Bram: Are you and Blair good friends?
Jo: Yea. Are you and Bud friends?
Bram: Yea. Hey are you up for a Nintendo match?
Jo: N 64?
Bram: Yea.
Jo: Heck yea! I haven’t played one of those since we did last.
Bram: Ok, (Grabs her favorite game, Mario Kart, and puts in and turns the game on and hands her a controller) let’s see if you’re still good at this.
Jo: Probably not as good as I used to be.
Bram: That’s understandable.
Jo: Yea I guess so. (Bye the end of that they had each won three races)
Bram: Well you haven’t lost your touch.
Jo: No, I guess not. (They put the game up and lean back on the couch)
Bram: I’ve missed you Jo.
Jo: I’ve missed you too. Tonight I finally realized what’s been wrong with me the past four years. Today I felt perfect.
Bram: Same for me. Right when you came in the room I felt great.
Jo: I was right where I needed to be. I still am.
Bram: Jo look at me. (Jo looks over and up a little so she could look him in the eye) I love you. I’ve always loved you.
Jo: Bram…
Bram: (Cuts her off) Jo I know you look at us as close friends but I don’t anymore I think of you as more than my best friend.
Jo: Bram it’s not that.
Bram: Then what is it?
Jo: Blair she wants you for herself.
Bram: I’m going to have to break it off I can’t stand it.
Jo: What Blair or that she’s not me. (Joking)
Bram: Both. (Jo laughs) Could I talk you into being my girl?
Jo: I thought I was.
Bram: You know what I mean.
Jo: You’ve talked me into it, but I want things to be like they used to be for awhile.
Bram: All right.
Jo: That doesn’t mean I don’t get a kiss.
Bram: I guess it doesn’t. (Pulls Jo on his lap and kisses her)
Jo: Bram,
Bram: Huh?
Jo: I love you too. (Hugs him) at the same time somebody knocks on the door and since the door was open Blair came in right when Jo was wrapped up in Bram’s arms)
Jo: I take that back, I want things to start where we left off. (Kisses him passionately)
Blair: Jo, how could you?
Jo: Blair!
Bram: Blair!
Blair: Bram, I thought we were a thing.
Bram: You thought we were, but I came here to see Jo.
Blair: You knew Jo?
Bram: Yea we’re best friends.
Jo: Blair let me explain.
Blair: Shoot.
Jo: The only reason I came over was to catch up with him and then well we got to more recent things and he kissed me.
Blair: How long have you two known each other?
Jo: Twenty years.
Blair: So you’ve known each other all your lives?
Bram: Yea, our moms were best friends and they happened to be in the hospital at the same time and then Jo and I happened.
Jo: He’s three days older.
Blair: Oh, well I better go.
Jo: Tell Mrs. G I won’t be home for dinner.
Blair: Yea yea yea. I guess I will.
Jo: I’m sorry Blair. (Blair leaves)
Bram: What did you mean by you won’t be back for dinner?
Jo: I want to stay with you, if that’s ok.
Bram: Of course it is.
Jo: I’m worried about Blair.
Bram: Why.
Jo: She’s going to hate me.
Bram: Don’t worry I’m here.
Jo: I know. I know I’m so lucky to have you around.
Bram: You could make it without me.
Jo: I know but I really don’t want to have to.
Bram: Want to go to Steak~n~Shake, I hope that’s still your favorite.
Jo: It still is.
Bram: Good let’s go.

~In Steak~n~Shake~
Jo: I haven’t been in one of these in forever.
Bram: Why?
Jo: We always came here together.
Bram: Oh, yea I know what you mean.
(They ate, talked and had a great time. Then the time came when Bram had to take Jo home)
Jo: I know I need to go but I don’t want to.
Bram: Are you worried about Blair?
Jo: No I don’t want to be away from you.
Bram: I can’t fix that.
Jo: I know. I might as well head home.
Bram: You do know I’ll take you home.
Jo: Thanks. I don’t know what’s gotten into me.
Bram: I know what you mean.
Jo: Well it’s 7:30 I better get home.
Bram: Come on. (Lays out some money for the meal and sees Jo digging in her wallet) What are you doing?
Jo: I got the tip as always. You insist to pay for the meal then I pay the tip. (Lays out three dollars)
Bram: Whatever. Let’s go. (Leads her out)

~Later That Night~
(Around 2:00 am Jo hasn’t fallen asleep she tiptoes out of her room and knock on Mrs. Garrett’s door)
Mrs. Garrett: Who is it? (Yawns)
Jo: Its me Jo.
Mrs. Garrett: Come on in Jo.
Jo: (Comes in) I couldn’t sleep.
Mrs. Garrett: What’s wrong?
Jo: Thinking about Bram.
Mrs. Garrett: I thought he was with Bair.
Jo: He never agreed.
Mrs. Garrett: Then what are you worried about?
Jo: Well I better start at the beginning. Bram and I grew up together, we’re best friends. When he came to the shop with Blair, my heart stopped because all my life I’d liked him and I was thinking to myself, “Well you blew it. You waited to long.” Then he invited me over to catch up and well he asked me out I accepted and it just so happened he didn’t shut the door all the way and Blair stopped by and saw him hugging me and then she couldn’t even talk. That’s why I’m worried.
Mrs. Garrett: I see.
Jo: I don’t want to hurt Blair but I really like Bram. He has always meant a lot to me.
Mrs. Garrett: Well if I were you I’d try to find a way to have both. I wouldn’t be able to choose between my best friend and a really good friend.
Jo: I think your right. I just don’t know how to get back on Blair’s good side.
Mrs. Garrett: Was Bram her boyfriend?
Jo: No. Blair just assumed he was.
Mrs. Garrett: Oh, so really you didn’t do anything wrong.
Jo: I guess so but if that’s true why do I feel so bad?
Mrs. Garrett: Because you let your friend trick you into believing something that wasn’t true.
Jo: So in a way it’s my fault.
Mrs. Garrett: In a way yes but mostly its Blair’s fault.
Jo: That’s not the only thing that’s bothering me.
Mrs. Garrett: Bram?
Jo: You are good, but anyway, yes it’s Bram. The thing is I haven’t seen him in four years and he hasn’t changed a bit. I know I have. I’ve grown up a lot in the past years, mostly thanks to you. I really like him but I don’t know if I can go back to how I was four years ago.
Mrs. Garrett: Jo, you don’t have to change back. It’s also not the end of the world if he didn’t change. He might be afraid of change. He might be afraid that you wouldn’t like him if he changed.
Jo: He knows better then that! We’ve been friends for twenty years!
Mrs. Garrett: Have you two ever been as close as you are now?
Jo: We’ve always been close. But we’ve never been this close.
Mrs. Garrett: That’s probably it.
Jo: What do I do?
Mrs. Garrett: Accept the way he is.
Jo: What if I can’t.
Mrs. Garrett: (Shocked) Well if you don’t think you could do it chances are you can’t I mean when it’s deciding your future I’m not going to make you try something you don’t think you’d be comfortable with because in the long run you wouldn’t be happy.
Jo: I love him but I don’t know if I’d end up happy.
Mrs. Garrett: Have you talked to Bram about this?
Jo: No, not yet, I was planning on it tomorrow if I see him.
Mrs. Garrett: Call him.
Jo: I only know what hotel he’s at and where it is.
Mrs. Garrett: Try the phone book. It’ll help.
Jo: (Laughs) I’ll look it up after I try to get some sleep.
Mrs. Garrett: Ok. (Laughs)
Jo: Thanks a lot Mrs. G. Goodnight.
Mrs. Garrett: Goodnight Jo (Jo leaves and Mrs. Garrett goes back to sleep, glad that she can still help the girls when they need it) There getting older but sometimes they need a little help. And I’m always glad to help.

~The Next Afternoon~
(Jo is looking through the phonebook trying to find the Comfort Inn on North Maple Street)
Jo: Found it! 8493, (picks up the phone and calls the number)
Receptionist: Comfort Inn how may I help you?
Jo: Hi, can you give me the number of Bram Simms’s room?
Receptionist: Mr. Simms checked out really early this morning.
Jo: Do you know how I could reach him?
Receptionist: Are you of any relationship to him?
Jo: Um (tries to think up something quick) I’m his sister.
Receptionist: Ok, here’s his cell phone number. 1-973-483-1678.
Jo: Thank you. (Hangs up and calls Bram)
Bram: Hello?’
Jo: Bram?
Bram: Jo is that you.
Jo: Uh huh. I called your hotel and they said you’d checked out really early.
Bram: There right.
Jo: Where are you?
Bram: New 51 heading out of Carbondale Illinois. I’m going to the airport.
Jo: Illinois?
Bram: Yea,
Jo: Bram what’s going on.
Bram: Jo, I was looking into SIU.
Jo: SIU College?
Bram: Yea,
Jo: What about Langely?
Bram: Too expensive.
Jo: Bram I don’t know about this.
Bram: What being apart again?
Jo: No us.
Bram: What?
Jo: I was thinking last night, all night actually, and I don’t know if it’ll work out with both of us happy in the long run.
Bram: Jo what are you saying.
Jo: Bram I don’t want to loose you as a friend. But I don’t think we would work as boyfriend and girlfriend.
Bram: Oh, but…
Jo: Bram don’t. I got to go. (Hangs up before she starts crying and right when she hangs up she starts crying)
Blair: (Comes down the stairs) Jo what’s wrong?
Jo: Bram. I just broke up with him.
Blair: Oh.
Jo: I think I might have hurt him.
Blair: Jo anytime a guy gets dumped he’s hurt.
Jo: It’s probably something I did last night.
Blair: Was they’re anything strange you did last night?
Jo: Not that I can think of but there had to be something he was heading out of Carbondale Illinois.
Blair: Well you right you had to do something. What was he doing in Illinois?
Jo: Checking out SIU.
Blair: SIU?
Jo: Southern Illinois University.
Blair: Wow. (Phone rings) I’ll get it.
Jo: No it’s probably Bram. (Picks up the phone) Hello?
Bram: Jo, I just wanted to tell you I wouldn’t be back soon.
Jo: Where are you going next?
Bram: Mizzu.
Jo: Missouri?
Bram: Yea,
Jo: Where’s that at?
Bram: Columbia. It’s about 250 miles from Carbondale.
Jo: What did I do to you last night?
Bram: What do you mean?
Jo: You’re trying to get as far away from me as you can.
Bram: And after Mizzu I’m heading to Illinois state, which is in Champaign. Then maybe I’ll check out UCLA.
Jo: See!
Bram: Ok your right. I don’t know about us.
Jo: Bram we’ve been friends for twenty years you know you don’t have to run from me!
Bram: Yea we’ve always been friends nothing more! I can’t handle it Jo!
Jo: I was wrong you have changed.
Bram: Of course I have you have too!
Jo: Not that much Bram. I still know I don’t have to run from you I never have had to. We’ve always been there for each other.
Bram: Some things change!
Jo: What’s happened to you! You weren’t like this last night!
Bram: I don’t know Jo! I got to go. (Hangs up on her furious)
Jo: (Slams the phone down) I hate him!
Blair: You really don’t.
Jo: Yea I do! (Tears start to stream down her face) No, you’re right I love him but I just can’t take it!
Blair: I know it’s hard.
Jo: No, you don’t you have no idea what I’m going through! It’s like being stabbed with a thousand knives.
Blair: You’re heartbroken and I know how that feels.
Jo: I know how it goes too. But somehow Bram’s effect on me is different then any other guy that I’ve split up with.
Blair: Probably because you really loved him. Or it could be that you’ve been friends for so long.
Jo: That’s probably it. Probably both of them are part of it.
Blair: You’ll get through this and in a few years Bram wil realize what a jerk he had been to let you go. I know you dumped him but he just let you.
Jo: Thanks Blair. (Hugs Blair)

More tomorrow or monday. I don't know yet

Heres more

~Three Years Later~
(It is the day before Jo’s wedding; she is marrying Cal Calhoun. They meet about two weeks after Bram left. And that was four years ago.)
Jo: Blair should I invite Bram for tomorrow?
Blair: Do you want to? (There is a knock on the door) I’ll get it. (Answers the door) Br- (Stops herself) Jo it’s for you. (Goes upstairs)
Jo: Bram!
Bram: Hey.
Jo: I was just thinking about you.
Bram: Really I’ve been thinking about you since I left. Can I come in?
Jo: That was four years ago. Yea sure (steps to the side and lets him in as she closes the door Cal comes out of the shop)
Cal: Sweetie, we need to head to the chapel.
Bram: Two questions. 1. Who is getting married? 2. Who is he?
Jo: This is Cal and we’re getting married. (Goes over by Cal and links her arm in his)
Bram: You and him?
Jo: Yea, and Bram I want you to come tomorrow.
Bram: To see the girl I love get married?
Jo: Bram you’re my best friend. I’d come if it were you.
Bram: I wouldn’t be able to make it I’m leaving tonight. Plus I couldn’t stand it.
Jo: To think I used to call you my best friend. (Bram leaves) That jerk!
Cal: Who was that?
Jo: We were best friends up till four years ago. I’ll tell you on the way to the chapel

~In Cal’s Car~
Jo: Well our mom’s were best friends as kids and when they went for a high school reunion they were both pregnant and there due dates were six days apart. He’s thee days older then I am. I was born a day early. We were best friends since. We cut school all the time to hang out or if we were out really late they’d call us in so we could sleep all day. Then at the beginning of our junior year I moved to Peakskill and went to Eastland. He stayed in the Bronx. And then one day four years ago he comes up to see me. We hung out one night and talked. I must have done or said something wrong because I tried to call his hotel the next morning and he’d checked out I called him on his cell phone and he was in Southern Illinois. And his next stop was Missouri. After that he was going back to Illinois. This time Campaign. After that he was checking out UCLA.
Cal: College hopping?
Jo: Yea, he wouldn’t go to Langley, because it was too expensive, but I think I was the reason. Southern Illinois was SIU, Columbia MO. Mizzu, Champaign had Illinois State, and well UCLA in California.
Cal: What did you do to him?
Jo: Nothing just all of a sudden he wanted to get away from me.
Cal: Wow. (As they stop at a stoplight Cal puts one arm around her and holds her close) Don’t worry about it I’m here. You got you’re friends here too.
Jo: I know. Did you tell Blair about rehearsal?
Cal: Yea she’ll be here.
Jo: Ok. And she’d tell the other two.
Cal: I forgot about Natalie and Tootie.
Jo: Blair’ll tell them.
Cal: Good.
Jo: I can’t believe we got wedding rehearsal! I could see it for a play but for a wedding.
Cal: We want to make it perfect.
Jo: Yea we do. It’ll be the best day of my life.
Cal: Mine too.
Jo: You excited about The Bahamas?
Cal: Thrilled.
Jo: Me too.
Cal: I wish we would’ve done Alaska or Hawaii those are the only two states I haven’t been to.
Jo: You’ve been in 48 states!
Cal: Yea.
Jo: I haven’t been through many. Probably 14, but I’ve been to Paris and Sydney too.
Cal: I haven’t been outside the United States the Bahamas will be my first time outside the United States.
Jo: I was in Paris for a month but I only got to see it for a week. The rest of the time we were held in school. Then I headed to Lamaze when we got into Paris.
Cal: What was there?
Jo: A car race.
Cal: Should’ve guessed.
Jo: Your first guess would’ve been motorcycle race. Then car race.
Cal: Your probably right. (Pulls into the parking lot)
Jo: We’ve rehearsed so much now the real thing will be dull.
Cal: No it won’t, it’ll be the real thing and we’ll actually go through it all the way.
Jo: Yea all I know is Dad’s not looking forward to it,
Cal: Why.
Jo: I’m his first and only kid.
Cal: Yea.
Jo: But he knows you’ll be good for me and that I really like you.
Cal: I hope you do. I’m marrying you in less then 24 hours.
Jo: Don’t worry about that. You’ll never have to worry about that.
Cal: Good. (Gets out and goes to help Jo out)
Jo: Thanks. (Takes his hand as he helps get her up) I can do it by myself you know.
Cal: I know but I want to help.
Jo: Yea I know.
~The Next Day~
(Jo is with her mom in the dressing room thing)
Rose: Jo I’m so proud of you.
Jo: Thanks mom, you going to say that again? Which would be for the millionth time in the past hour!
Rose: Oh Jo you just got the marriage jitters.
Jo: No I don’t. I’m annoyed.
Rose: All right. I remember I wasn’t in a real good mood before my wedding.
Jo: Was grandma bugging you to death?
Rose: Yes she was.
Jo: Well if you know what I’m talking about why are you bugging me?
Blair: (Knocks) It’s me.
Jo: Come in,
Blair: (Comes in) Jo that dress is gorgeous!
Jo: You should know you were with me when I bought it!
Rose: She’s been biting my head of since we’ve been here. So don’t take it personally.
Blair: I hardly ever do.
Jo: I’m right here listening you know.
Blair: I better warn Cal she’s not in a good mood.
Jo: You do you’re dead.
Blair: Ok, I’ll just go walk down the isle and we’ll all wait for you.
Jo: They’re ready to start?
Blair: Uh huh.
Jo: (Takes one last look in the mirror) Here goes nothing.
Blair: You nervous?
Jo: Scared to death.
Blair: Why?
Jo: This is a huge step up Blair.
Blair: Your right. Let’s go. (Leaves and Jo and Rose follow her)
~In the Church Part~
(Rose goes and sits on a bench in the front row. Everyone else in the ceremony has gone and now Jo comes into view and links arms with Charlie)
Charlie: I’m proud of you Jo.
Jo: Thanks dad.
Charlie: If you got any second thought the car’s running.
Jo: (Laughs a little) Forget it dad. (Hugs him and goes up to join Cal)
Cal: (Whispers to Jo) You look great.
Jo: (Smiles at him and through the whole ceremony she thinks of how great there life is going to be but is interrupted when they do there vows)

~After the Wedding~
DJ: I want to give the spotlight to the bride and groom for this next song.
(Cal and Jo get up and head out on the floor and the song Love Me When I’m Gone by 3 Doors Down comes on)
Jo: Cal I love you.
Cal: I love you too. (Pulls Jo close to him and kisses her)
~On the Plane heading to the Bahamas~
(Jo and Cal are on their way to the honeymoon spot. Cal is flipping through a magazine and Jo is looking out the window then all of a sudden she leans back and groans)
Cal: You ok? Don’t tell me you get airsick.
Jo: I don’t I just feel a little dizzy.
Cal: Wraps an arm around her and she rest her head on his shoulder) You sure you’re ok?
Jo: Yea. Just don’t let me fall asleep.
Cal: Ok.
(They have about 45 more minutes on the plane and Jo didn’t hold up too well. She puked once. Someone gave them a paper bag so she wouldn’t be covered)
Cal: I thought you didn’t get airsick. (Joking)
Jo: (Looks at him and starts laughing) Shut up!
Flight Attendant: Please put your seat belts on we wil be lading shortly.
Jo: (Leans back and groans)
(When they land they catch a shuttle bus to the Atlantis Resort)
Jo: Wow. (Looks at the hotel) Honey how are we paying for this?
Cal: Don’t worry about it. I just want you to have fun and enjoy yourself. But at some points add me into the picture.
Jo: You’ll never leave. (Puts her arms around him)
Cal: Let’s just find you room.
Jo: Fine by me. What number?
Cal: 647.
Jo: Ok, (Steps into an elevator with Cal right behind her) What all did you bring?
Cal: One suitcase.
Jo: I don’t bother with suitcases. Why should you backpacks work just as good?

~In Their Room~
Jo: It’s nice it’s really nice. Honey, are you sure we can afford this?
Cal: Don’t worry about it. That’s my worry.
Jo: All right whatever you want. (Throws her backpack on the bed)
Cal: Let’s see it’s about 7. We could go for a quick dinner and be back to get to bed early and have a good start in the morning.
Jo: Ok. Sounds like a plan.
Cal: Let’s go. (Throws his bag on the bed)
Jo: Just nothing fancy I’m in jeans you know.
Cal: You need to be in shorts.
Jo: A skirt?
Cal: That’s fine.
Jo: Good. (Grabs her bag and goes to change)
(About five minutes later she comes out. Her hair is down and curled at the ends)
Cal: Wow, Jo you look great.
Jo: This is only a five-minute job.
Cal: I know. I don’t know how you do it.
Jo: It’s a girl thing.
Cal: Can’t be.
Jo: Why?
Cal: Most girls take an hour to pick out their clothes. You even got some make-up on.
Jo: Not much. Let’s just go it’s after 7 and I’m starving.
Cal: Ok. (Takes her arm and leads her out)

~That Night at Dinner~
Jo: This is fancy.
Cal: You glad you changed?
Jo: Yea I would’ve felt stupid in what I was wearing.
Cal: Probably.
Jo: Let’s just eat and get back to the hotel. (Wraps her arms around him and kisses him)
Cal: Ok.
Hostess: how many?
Cal: Two.
Hostess: Smoking or non.
Cal: Non.
Hostess: (Grabs some menus) Follow me.
(They get sat down and Jo is skimming the menu)
Cal: I hope you like Italian.
Jo: You know I love it.
Cal: Yea I know.
Jo: What are you leaning towards?
Cal: Linguine with clamshells.
Jo: I’m thinking about Lasagna.
Cal: Get whatever you want.
Jo: (Smiles at him as their waiter approaches)
Waiter: Hi, I’m Danielle and I’ll be taking care of you tonight. Can I get you any appetizers?
Jo: I don’t think so.
Danielle: Can I start you of with anything to drink?
Cal: Yes and we’re ready to order.
Jo: Go on Cal.
Cal: I want Linguine with clamshells and a coke to drink.
Jo: And I want Lasagna and iced tea to drink.
Danielle: Sweet or un-sweet?
Jo: Sweet.
Danielle: I’ll be right back with your drinks. (Walks off)
Cal: You look great tonight.
Jo: Thanks. Cal what’s wrong you’ve said that like a zillion times.
Cal: Well you look gorgeous.
Jo: Thanks. Really what’s up you’ve never acted like this before.
Cal: I just told you.
Jo: It’s not my looks.
Cal: Yes it is.
Jo: Ok then it’s my looks.
Cal: Can you blame me?
Jo: I hate to sound like Blair but here goes nothing. No I can’t blame you. (Runs her hand through her hair without messing it up) Ok I don’t like acting like Blair.
Cal: I don’t either.
Jo: It was fun for once but I couldn’t stand always being like that.
Cal: I hope not.

~Two weeks later when they get back they go to Jo’s old house~
Jo: Hello?
Blair: (Runs down the stairs) Jo?
Jo: Hey.
Blair: Hey, how was it?
Cal: Wonderful. (Wraps his arm around Jo) Right sweetie?
Jo: It was amazing.
Blair: Major highlights?
Jo: Cal, sun, and Cal
Blair: (Laughs) So you had fun.
Jo: Yea. Is it ok if we stay here till we find a place?
Blair: That’s fine. I’ll room with Natalie and Tootie for a while and you two can have our room.
Jo: Thanks Blair.

~The Next Morning~
(Jo wakes up with Cal resting his head on her shoulder. She stays in bed hoping he’d wake up. When he didn’t she gently rolled over away from him which slid his head off of her she got up and started to head downstairs)

~Downstairs~
Jo: Anyone up?
Mrs. Garrett: I am.
Jo: Ok,
Mrs. Garrett: Anything wrong?
Jo: No I’m find. Just a little tired. And you know once I get up I can’t go back to sleep just like that.
Mrs. Garrett: Yea I know. I’ve lived with you for eight years. I know you pretty well.
Jo: You all do. I thought I was a closed up person but I was wrong. I’m the open one.
Mrs. Garrett: No Blair’s ahead of you there.
Jo: Yea she asks you if you want to know something and before you can say anything she acts like she’s writing a biography on the person she’s talking about. Or autobiography if she’s rambling on about herself. Which she does do often I gotta say.
Mrs. Garrett: (Laughs) Cal still asleep?
Jo: Yea,
Blair: (Comes downstairs) Good morning.
Jo: Why are you in such a good mood.
Blair: Pretty soon you’ll be gone.
Jo: Ha ha.
Blair: Some people don’t know a joke when they hear one.
Jo: I know a joke when I hear one. Number one that wasn’t funny and number two some people aren’t morning people.
Mrs. Garrett: Girls it’s not even eight o’clock. Do you have to start fighting already?
Jo: Sorry Mrs. G but she puts the fight right up in my face how could I refuse.
Blair: And you were complaining about my jokes.
Jo: That wasn’t even a joke.
Cal: (Comes down the stairs and says to Mrs. Garrett) They’re already fighting?
Blair: (Hears a man’s voice, screams and runs behind Jo grabbing onto her arms) A man! Hide me Jo.
Jo: Don’t worry Blair. (Shakes her off) He won’t be on you he’s my man. (Goes over and kisses Cal and keeps hold of his arms) Did you sleep well?
Cal: Yea till I woke up.
Blair: Did you remember you were married to Jo?
Cal: No she wasn’t there when I woke up.
Jo: Well I woke up.
Cal: Did you have to get up? (Joking)
Jo: (Knowing he’s teasing her) Well I stayed around for awhile and when I realized nothing was going to happen and I got up.
Mrs. Garrett: (Understood the joke quickly) Jo!
Jo: What?
Mrs. Garrett: You know how I feel about that talk.
Jo: Yea no sex till I’m married. But I’m married.
Mrs. Garrett: Jo!
Jo: Come on Mrs. G. you know I’m just having a little fun.
Mrs. Garrett: Yea well next thing I’m gonna have to do is put a chaperone in your room.
Jo: (Laughs as Natalie and Tootie come down the stairs)
Natalie: Why does all the good stuff happen while I’m gone or asleep.
Blair: You didn’t miss anything.
Tootie: Then what’s going on?
Blair: Jo and sex.
Natalie: We missed something Tootie.
Tootie: What’s going on?
Jo: The usual thing. You know no sex till you’re married.
Natalie: You are married.
Mrs. Garrett: That’s the point.
Tootie: Oh.
Cal: This whole thing is pretty interesting.
Jo: (Being serious but also purposely mention it in front of Mrs. Garrett) Hey Cal how do you feel about kids.
Cal: (Catches what she’s doing. But tells the truth) I’d love it.
Mrs. Garrett: Not in this house you wouldn’t. (Everyone laughs because they know that she really means none of that in this house)
Jo: Come on Cal we got to look for a place today.
Cal: Right behind you. (They head upstairs. Mrs. Garrett heads to the kitchen to start breakfast)
Blair: Jo does know how to have fun with something.
Natalie: I can’t believe she got into that with Mrs. Garrett.
Blair: Mrs. Garrett knew she was just playing.
Tootie: She wasn’t about the kid part.
Blair: You’re right about that. She wasn’t kidding.
Natalie: Well we’ll be aunts soon.
Tootie: Cool.
Blair: You guys are jumping the gun. Those two haven’t done anything. As far as I have been told at least.
Natalie: That’s it Tootie. Be ready to be an aunt.
Tootie: (Laughs) I’m going to go help Mrs. Garrett.
Natalie: Ask her what she thinks about Grandma Edna?
Blair: (Cracks up laughing) I know all of this is really mean and we shouldn’t be doing it. But it’s so funny.
Natalie: I know.
