Nick at Nite Discovers Joys of 'Fatherhood'
Mon, Apr 7, 2003 01:00 PM PDT LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Bill Cosby's best-selling book "Fatherhood" is coming to Nick at Nite as the first original animated series for the Nickelodeon's evening and overnight programming arm. David Alan Grier ("Life With Bonnie," "DAG") will star. "Fatherhood" continues Cosby's relationship with the cable network. "Little Bill" airs on Nickelodeon and the new animated series joins "Fat Albert" on Nick at Night. He'll executive produce along with Charles Kipps ("Little Bill," "Cosby Mysteries" ) and David Brokaw ("Little Bill" ). The show is aiming for a December 2003 premiere date. "It's great to work for a dynamic company like Nick at Nite," says Cosby. "I hope the audience will enjoy the art of New Yorker cartoonist George Booth that inspired the look of these characters." Grier will voice "Dr. Bindlebeep," a high school teacher, loving husband and father of three. Each week, he'll experience a touching, but funny journey through the challenges, life lessons and comical confusions of family life. "We are thrilled and honored to join forces with America's most beloved and creative funnyman for the network's first original project," says Larry W. Jones, executive vice president of TV Land and Nick at Nite. "We've been looking for an original property much like 'The Cosby Show' that truly fits the Nick at Nite family viewing brand. What better way to launch our first original series than with an original Cosby gem." "Fatherhood," released in 1986, spent 54 weeks at No.1 on the New York Times Best Seller List. |

Animates series now? And Fat Albert?? (They refer to it like its currently shown but I think that they made a typo and that it is coming.) God are they going down the tubes. They should just rename it "CosbyVision"

It might be good. You never know but I thought N@N didn't want to do original animated series which is why they passed on the "Hey Arnold" spinoff with Helga  .

Idk, let me try hard not to think of Bill Cosby. Okay, animated series. It's a screw up if you ask me. I'd like to toss one example across the board. This example being MTV which used to stand for MUSIC TELEVISION. So, why am I seeing mostly tv shows on during a MUSIC channel? Eh? Anybody care to take a guess? Nope, please don't point out TRL. I don't count the same 10 videos and only a minute and a half (maybe) of the actual song. The uninterrupted music comes on at 3 in the morning. Okay, it might start slowly. If it comes on once or twice a week, it'll slowly start to expand and if the animated show is popular, they might add more and it'll just be an all day cartoon channel. |
