Smile I Love Lucy: The Color Episode

This was originally posted, by myself, on the LUCYTALK board.

I was reading this post on Lucytalk about the possibility of a color Lucy episode existing. Personally I think that it would be so cool. To have a REAL color "I Love Lucy" episode, and not a colorized version where the editor/"colorizer" chooses the colors of the actor's clothes, hair, the sets, etc.

Anyway that wasn't the point of this post.......I was thinking of something everyone at this board (and possibly the fans the Lucy fans at LUCYTALK) could contribute to.

Fanfiction fantasy ILL COLOR episode

This is the episode title that I came up with:

"Lucy Wants a Color Television"

What's needed now is the plot (although the title gives a huge bulk of it away ), the block comedy scenes (the physical/slapstic comedy scenes)what season the episode takes place, and whatever you want to add.

If this thread gets enough response, I'll try to (not promising) write a script for ep using all of your ideas (or at least summary of the ep using everyone's ideas).

what do you guys think?

Here's some of the plot (If you don't like it, don't worry, I'll change to whatever you guys suggest)

(A plot) - Lucy and Ethel scheme to get a new color televison, of course Ricky and Fred are totally against the idea, so the girls must earn the money alone (yeah it's reminicient of "Job Switching", but again whatever you guys want)

(B plot)Meanwhile Ricky off for few weeks from the club decides to spend some time with Little Ricky, visiting different sites around New York. Of course Fred tags along.......and of course Ricky and Fred manage to lose Little Ricky in one of the biggest cities in the world!

please add to the story, or re-write the entire thing if you want.

Ooo, I LOVE this idea!

I think somehow they should end up with two color TVs. Lucy and Ethel finally earn enough money to buy one and Ricky and Fred get a good deal on one. (You know how Ricky was always giving in!) (Oh, and you know how "good deals" always end up!)

I'll think some more.

Oh, there we go. The boys get a TV and the girls get a TV. Since Fred and Ricky got such a "good deal" on theirs, they make the girls take theirs back. After that's all done, they all come to find that the boys TV doesn't work (so much for Good Deals!). So the girls try to get theirs back only to find they've all been sold out and can only get one for a lot more money.

Of course, this happens AFTER the girls get their job.

How about that?

Thanks for the response!

What about the B-plot (Ricky,Fred, and little Ricky)? Should it be droped in favor of the A-plot (Lucy and Ethel want a color television)? Does it fit with the A-plot? or would the B-plot, in your opinion, only slow down the action in the A-plot.

I would also like some input from others on this board.

How about if you use dawsongirls plot for both of them and then when they see that they have two. Then not only Lucy and Ethel return it and so do Ricky and Fred. Then Ricky and Fred say to forget about getting a color television and then you can use plot B.While they are gone Lucy and Ethel get fired from their jobs and have to do something crazy like "Lucy is Envious" to get alot of money and when they get that television back it doesn't work so they have to return it but then the boys bring back a working television with them and the girls get to keep the money they make. How about something like that?Dumb idea I know.Just trying to help
