I agree, this episode was very ahead of its time. There are a few other episodes where Leave It To Beaver brings up some very 'controversial' family issues for the time, such as divorce and alcoholism. And I wouldn't say controversial now, because it's not contoversial today, but then, it might have been considered controversial (heck, if seeing a toilet on TV is controverisal back then, so are the other issues LITB brought up).

My friends match up perfectly to the LITB gang. Scott is Richard, Josh is Gilbert, Nick is Whitey, and I am like Beaver.
