Default New FanFic...I'm Posting this early for YOU TFIC!

Wally Runs Away
This story takes place when Wally is 5 years old. Little “Beaver” has just been born, and this is the day he is to be brought home from the hospital. Ward and Aunt Martha have been trying to prepare young Wally for this event and have been trying for days to get him excited about it, but Wally is still unsure about this whole “little brother” business.

Scene opens in the Living Room. Ward is getting ready to leave to go pick up June and the baby from the hospital and Aunt Martha is going to stay with Wally while Ward is away.

WARD: Well Martha, I guess it’s about time to go to the hospital and pick up June.
MARTHA: Yes, it’s half past ten now. The doctor said June could leave at noon. Ward, I want to tell you something.
WARD: Yes Martha?
MARTHA: Well, first of all I’m so happy for you and June. You are so blessed to now have two sons and such a nice home and everything. But the thing I wanted to tell you is…thank you.
WARD: Thank you? What for Martha?
MARTHA: Well, as you know, I practically raised June since she was a little girl. She’s become like a daughter to me and…I just wanted to tell you I don’t think she could have found a more wonderful husband than you Ward. You are so good to her. I see you two together and I know you’re deeply in love. I just wanted to thank you for giving her that. Thank you for being so wonderful to her.
WARD: Well. You’re welcome Martha. And you’re right. I am deeply in love with her. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for her.
MARTHA: Yes. You really are a wonderful man. Oh my goodness, I’m sorry. I’m keeping you from leaving. Go ahead Ward.
WARD: Ok Martha. Will you and Wally be ok while I’m gone?
MARTHA: Oh, certainly Ward. We’ll be just fine. (looks around) Where is Wallace anyway?
WARD: I think he’s up in his room, just a moment, I’ll call him. (Ward walks over to the stairs and calls for Wally) Wally? Come down here, I’m leaving to go pick up your mother and your new brother!
WALLY: I’m comin’ dad. (Wally comes running down the stairs, but stops and begins walking when he sees Aunt Martha watching)
WARD: You be a good boy for Aunt Martha while I’m gone, you understand?
WALLY: Yes sir. I understand. I’ll be good for Aunt “Mawfa”.
MARTHA: That’s right, Ward, Wallace is a perfect gentleman, aren’t you Wallace? He is a Bronson after all.
(Wally just stands there with his hands in his pockets, swaying back and forth, and shrugs as if to say “I dunno“ while Ward suppresses his obvious aggravation with what Aunt Martha has said.)
WARD: Well, that’s fine. We should be home in a couple of hours Martha.
MARTHA: That’s fine Ward.
WARD: If you need me, just call the hospital. The number is by the phone.
MARTHA: Yes Ward.
(Ward walks out the door, and gets into the car and waves as he drives away. Martha stands in the doorway to see him off. When he is out of sight, Martha goes inside to talk to Wally.)
MARTHA: Wallace, tell me, how do you feel about your baby brother coming home today?
WALLY: I dunno Aunt Mawfa. I never got a baby ‘brover’ before.
MARTHA: Well, Wallace, I never had a baby brother either, but I loved my older brother Theodore very much. I’m sure you will feel the same way about your new brother.
WALLY: (uncertain) I guess so.
MARTHA: I’ve noticed, you seem a little upset Wallace. Aren’t you happy about your new brother?
WALLY: I dunno. I guess so. It’s just…
MARTHA: It’s just what, dear?
WALLY: It’s just…What if mom and dad don’t like me as much anymore now that they got T-Tw-Tweedore.
MARTHA: It’s “Theodore” and that’s silly. Your parents love you just as much now as they did before Theodore was born. I assure you, your mother and father have enough love for the both of you.
WALLY: I sure hope so.
MARTHA: (reassuringly) Of course they do dear. I happen to know your mother and father love you very much. In fact, when your father took me to see your mother in the hospital, when you were at your friend Chester’s house, do you know what your mother asked me?
WALLY: What?
MARTHA: She asked me how you were doing of course! She told me to tell you she loves you and she misses you and that she would see you soon. I just forgot to tell you since you stayed overnight at your friend’s house. (Wally kind of half smiles, and Martha pulls Wally over and hugs him, against Wally‘s wishes)
-Cut to Hospital-
Ward and June are exiting June’s room. A nurse is pushing June in a wheelchair, June is holding Theodore, and Ward is walking alongside.

NURSE: Oh, Mr and Mrs Cleaver, your son is absolutely beautiful! I mean he’s precious!
JUNE: Thank you so much. I just love him to pieces. You know, he has a big brother waiting to meet him at home. I’m so excited for our older boy to meet him.
NURSE: Oh yes. I have 2 children also. My oldest was very happy about his new sister. I don’t think you have anything to worry about.
JUNE: (seemingly relieved) Oh good.
NURSE: I just can’t get over how cute he is! Look at that dark hair! Mr. Cleaver, I must say, he looks just like you.
WARD: I prefer to think of him as handsome.
JUNE: Oh Ward.
WARD: I’m only kidding. I’m just bubbling over with joy (Ward says obviously trying to please June).
NURSE: I’m sure you are Mr. Cleaver. (Leaning over as if to tell June a secret, but saying loud enough for Ward to hear) Typical proud father.
JUNE: Yes. (June laughs)
(Ward, June and the Nurse are stopped several times in the hallways on the way to the car, for people to admire the cute baby June holds in her arms.)
(The nurse pushes June out of the hospital door and onto the sidewalk outside where she can get into the car.)
WARD: (opens the car door) Ok dear, I’ll hold Theodore, then you get in the car and I’ll hand him to you.
JUNE: Ok. (June gives the baby to Ward and pulls herself out of the wheelchair) My goodness! It seems I‘m a little slow-going.
NURSE: I’m sure you’re still sore. You probably will be for a week or two. But I’m sure it’s nothing you can’t handle. After all, you’ve been through all this before!
JUNE: I certainly have. I’ll be fine. (June slowly lowers herself into the car and Ward hands her the baby)
NURSE: Well, it’s been nice taking care of you Mrs. Cleaver. Good luck with little Theodore and your other little boy too!
JUNE: Thank you so much for everything, nurse. I really appreciate all you‘ve done.
NURSE: It’s my job! And people like you and Mr. Cleaver make it so much more pleasant!
WARD: Well, thank you nurse. Goodbye.
NURSE: Goodbye, and again, good luck!
(Ward closes Junes door and gets into the car)
JUNE: Just look at him Ward. (looks down at her new son, who is sleeping soundly) Isn’t he sweet when he’s sleeping?
WARD: He certainly is dear.
JUNE: I wonder what Wally will think of him. I hope he loves his little brother.
WARD: As cute as that boy is, how could he not?
JUNE: (smiling) I hope you’re right dear. The night I spoke to him on the phone, he seemed a bit upset. Like he wasn’t sure about us bringing the baby home.
WARD: June, he’s probably just feeling a little overwhelmed. I mean a lot has changed in his life. First you leave for a week, and then Aunt Martha comes in and kind of takes over your job. Then he learns that there’s going to be another child to share his parents with. That’s a big undertaking for a boy his age.
JUNE: You don’t think he resents us or the baby do you? I mean…well…you know.
WARD: Oh I don’t think so. Little boys get baby brothers every day in this country. I’m sure this is nothing out of the ordinary.
JUNE: Well, I hope you’re right. (June seems worried)
(Ward pulls away from the hospital and drives home)

-Cut to Cleaver House-
Ward and June pull into the driveway, Martha sees them through the window, and meets them at the door.
WARD: Here we are! Home sweet home.
JUNE: Yes. Oh Ward, there’s Aunt Martha. Let’s just go inside. You can come back out later to get all of the stuff.
WARD: Alright dear.
(Ward opens the door for June and helps her out of the car. They both walk to the house)
MARTHA: June! Oh June! How wonderful to have you have you home.
JUNE: Hi Aunt Martha! ( Hugs Martha with her free arm) It‘s great to be home.
MARTHA: (admiring her new great-nephew) Oh, he’s just wonderful June! Absolutely wonderful!
JUNE: Thank you Aunt Martha. He’s just a little doll. Where’s Wally? I’m dying for him to meet his brother!
MARTHA: He’s up in his room. I guess he didn’t hear you arrive. I’ll go up and get him.
(Martha goes upstairs to retrieve Wally)
JUNE: Oh, Ward. I feel so nervous. Isn’t that silly of me?
WARD: Yes, but that’s nothing new. (Ward says sarcastically)
JUNE: (rolls her eyes and playfully hits Wards arm)
-Cut to Wally’s room-
MARTHA: Wallace? Didn’t you hear your parents arrive?
WALLY: Yeah. I heard ‘em.
MARTHA: Well, why didn’t you come downstairs?
WALLY: I just didn’t wanna. That’s all.
MARTHA: Now Wallace. Don’t be like that. Come on, let’s go downstairs and meet your brother!
WALLY: I don’t wanna see my brover. I don’t wanna. (Wally is sitting on his bed. He crosses his arms and turns around and faces the other direction)
MARTHA: Wallace? Why on earth don’t you want to see Theodore?
WALLY: I don’t want a baby brover. I just want it to be me and mom and dad like it used ta be.
MARTHA: Well, I’m not going to argue with you. But your mother is waiting downstairs. She’s been gone for a week, don’t you want to see her? She would be terribly upset if you didn’t come downstairs to see her. You don’t want to upset your mother, do you?
WALLY: I guess not.
MARTHA: So, will you come downstairs with me?
WALLY: (hesitantly) Ok. (Wally and Martha exit and go downstairs)
-Cut to Living Room-
(June and Ward are standing in the living room waiting)
WARD: You know, I think it would be best if you let me hold the baby until Wally comes in.
JUNE: Why dear?
WARD: I just think it would make Wally feel better if you went straight to him and gave him a hug, instead of the first thing he sees being you holding the baby. You know, to make him see he’s still just as important to you as he’s always been.
JUNE: Well, alright. You’re right dear. (Hands Theodore to Ward)
(Wally and Martha enter)
JUNE: Hi Wally!
WALLY: MOM!! (Runs to June and gives her a big tight hug, obviously kind of hurting June with him running into her)
JUNE: I’ve missed you so much! (hugs him tightly and kisses his cheek) Were you a good boy for your dad and Aunt Martha while I was away?
WALLY: (Shrugs his shoulders and looks at Martha)
MARTHA: Of course he was. He was the perfect gentleman.
JUNE: Well, that’s fine. C’mon Wally, lets go meet your brother!
WALLY: (Starts to follow his mother, then hesitates).
JUNE: C’mon! (Takes Wally’s hand and walks him over to Ward) Wally, this is your new brother Theodore.
WARD: (Bends over to let Wally have a closer look)
JUNE: (Is silent for a moment, watching her son) (after a pause) Well, how do you like him?
WALLY: (Just stands there looking at his brother)
JUNE: You want to hold him honey?
WALLY: I guess so.
JUNE: Go sit down in dad’s chair.
WALLY: (sits down)
WARD: (Leans over and puts Theodore into Wally’s arms) Now, be careful son, and use two hands, you don’t want to drop him.
WALLY: Yes sir. (Wally holds Theodore and looks at him for several minutes)
(June and Ward just stand back and admire their two sons, June is beaming with joy, her eyes slightly teary)
WALLY: (Sees June’s tears) I didn’t mean to make ya cry mom, you can have the baby back.
JUNE: Oh, no son! It isn’t that!
WARD: Your mother is just still a little emotional and happy to see you holding your brother, that’s all Wally.
WALLY: Well, I don’t want mom to be ‘motional. Come get him dad.
WARD: Ok son. (Takes Theodore from Wally)
(Telephone rings)
MARTHA: I’ll get it Ward. Hello?…Oh yes, he’s right here…just a moment. (Hands the phone to Ward)
WARD: Hello?…Oh, hello Fred! Oh yes, we got home a little while ago…today?…well (looks at June) Well I suppose that would be alright…two o’clock?…that’ll be fine Fred…ok, bye.
JUNE: Ward?
WARD: Oh, that was Fred Rutherford. He and Gwendolyn want to stop by and see Theodore this afternoon. They want to bring their “Little princess to meet her future husband”.
JUNE: Oh my. That Fred sure is a riot, isn’t he? But I think we should get them out of diapers before we start planning their wedding. (June says sarcastically)
WALLY: Is Misser Rutherford comin’ over today dad?
WARD: Yes, and you better get used to having company too. A lot of people are going to be coming over for the next few weeks to see the baby and to see your mom and to help her out.
WALLY: I jus hope he doesn’t bwing Clarence. At kidneygawden (meaning “Kindergarten”) school, they call him Lumpy, but he told me notta call him Lumpy or he’d belt me one. So I call him Clarence. He’s a lot bigger’n me, he’s in second gwade!
WARD: Well, you don’t have to worry, son. Mr. Rutherford won’t allow Clarence to misbehave while he’s here.

-An hour has passed. Fred, Gwendolyn, chubby little Clarence and “the little princess” Violet have just arrived-
WARD: (Opens the door) Hello Fred! Come on in.
FRED: Thanks Ward old man, good of you to let us stop by on such short notice, but Gwen was just dying to see June and the baby you know.
WARD: Um, yes Fred.
(They all walk into the living room, where June is sitting in the chair holding Beaver. Everyone begins talking, but Clarence gives Wally a mean look while shaking his fist and Wally goes and stands behind his mother’s chair.)
GWEN: Oh June! How are you?
JUNE: I’m fine! I couldn’t be better.
GWEN: (Leaning over to get a good look at Theodore) June, he’s precious! Oh, he’s so sweet!
JUNE: Thank you! Do you want to hold him? I can hold Violet for you.
GWEN: Oh, could I? Oh I’d love too! (Trades babies with June) Look Fred, isn’t he just adorable?
FRED: He certainly is. Good looking lad you have here Ward.
(Ward smiles, beaming with fatherly pride)
JUNE: My goodness! I can’t believe how Violet has grown Gwen!
GWEN: Hasn’t she?
FRED: She’s becoming quite the little angel too. Hardly makes a peep at night.
GWEN: (rolling her eyes) That’s what he thinks. That’s just because he’s too busy snoring at night to see about her when she cries.
(Everyone laughs except Fred, who seems mildly insulted)
(Gwen gives Theodore back to June and takes Violet from her)
(Everyone visits for a while, and Wally gets his first taste of jealousy, since no one has paid any attention to him since they’d been there)
FRED: Well, we really must be going Ward, old buddy. June, congratulations.
JUNE: Thank you Fred.
GWEN: He’s just wonderful June. I’m so happy for you both!
JUNE: Thanks Gwen. Do you have to leave so soon?
FRED: Yes, June I’m afraid so. John Cartwright, one of the top Lawyers in Mayfield, is having us over for dinner, and we don‘t want to be late. You know how it is with these high society people, punctuality is very important. We have to get the children home for the sitter. It’s been nice visiting with you folks.
WARD: Yes, Fred. It was good seeing you too. (Walks them to the door) Goodbye.
(Wally sneaks up to his room, upset that no one spoke to him)
JUNE: Whew! That Fred is a handful.
WARD: He certainly keeps you on your toes, doesn’t he?
JUNE: He certainly does. (Looks around for a moment) Where’s Wally?
WARD: I don’t know. He was here a minute ago.
MARTHA: I saw him go upstairs when the Rutherfords were leaving. Do you want me to get him?
WARD: No, he’ll be fine. He’s probably exhausted from having company.
JUNE: I know one thing. I’m certainly exhausted. I think now that I’ve gotten Theodore to sleep, I’ll go upstairs and take a nap.
WARD: Well, I think you deserve that dear. I’ll help you upstairs.
MARTHA: I’ll take little Theodore June. He can nap in this bassinet in here. I would love to take care of him while you get some rest.
JUNE: (relieved) Oh thank you Aunt Martha. I would appreciate that so much.
MARTHA: You just go right upstairs and sleep. Don’t worry about a thing.
(Ward puts one arm around June’s waist and holds June’s hand with his other hand and helps her up the stairs to their room)

A few hours later June is up from her nap and is taking care of Theodore while Ward sits by her on the couch admiring his new son. Wally is sitting in the chair across from his parents, watching them, thinking of the way things used to be. Martha is in the kitchen making dinner.

WARD: My my. He’s a strong one June. Look at the grip he has on my finger!
JUNE: I know. He’ll probably be an athlete someday.
WARD: Well sure he will be! He’s a Cleaver isn’t he?
JUNE: Yes, I guess so. He’s just so cute I can’t stop looking at him!
WARD: Yes. He must get that from his mother.
JUNE: (Looks at ward lovingly) That was sweet Ward.
MARTHA: (enters from the kitchen) Ward, June, dinner’s ready.
JUNE: Oh, wonderful. Thank you Aunt Martha.
(Ward and June get up and go toward the kitchen)
WARD: Come on Wally! Dinner!
(Wally reluctantly gets up and follows them. June lays sleeping Theodore in the bassinet in the living room where she can hear if he cries.)
JUNE: I’m so hungry!
WARD: I’m sure. Hospital food isn’t exactly gourmet, is it?
JUNE: No, it certainly is NOT.
(Martha walks in carrying a large steaming bowl and some bread)
JUNE: It looks delicious Aunt Martha!
MARTHA: It’s not much. (Martha takes Wally’s bowl and fills it with some white steamy stuff)
WALLY: What’s this stuff?
JUNE: Wally! That’s not polite.
WARD: That’s right Wally. You apologize to Aunt Martha.
WALLY: (embarrassed and upset his parents yelled at him) I’m sowy Aunt Mawfa. (Wally says beginning to cry)
MARTHA: That’s ok, Wallace. It’s clam chowder.
(Wally continues slightly crying)
MARTHA: Please don’t cry Wallace. It’s ok. Really.
WARD: Yes, son. Stop crying. It’s over now.
WALLY: (wiping away his tears with his arm) Yes sir.
(The rest of dinner is pretty quiet. Everyone eats seldom finding anything to say, while Wally just gets the soup in his spoon, then turns it over, letting it spill out into the bowl, occasionally taking a bite.)
JUNE: (finishing up her soup) That was wonderful, wasn’t it Ward?
WARD: It certainly was.
JUNE: How was yours Wally?
(Before Wally can answer, Theodore starts crying in the other room and June excuses herself and gets up to go see about him)
MARTHA: Well, I’ll clean up the dinner dishes. You two go on in the living room with June.
WARD: You sure I can’t help you Martha?
MARTHA: I won’t hear of it. Now run along.
WARD: Ok, thanks Martha. Come on Wally.
(Ward joins June on the couch again, this time Wally sits with them as well)
JUNE: Isn’t your brother cute Wally?
WALLY: Yeah. I guess so. Dad, I don‘t want to sit in here anymore. I wanna do something else.
WARD: Well, do you want to color in the new coloring book your Aunt Martha brought you?
WALLY: Yes sir.
WARD: Ok. I guess you can color in your room. (gets up and walks Wally upstairs)

Later that night, June and Ward come up to bed and Wally is still awake coloring.
WARD: Wally, time for bed son.
WALLY: Aww dad, just five more minutes.
WARD: No son. You need to get to bed. Go wash up and your mother and I will be back in a minute.
WALLY: Yes sir.
( Ward and June tuck Wally into bed and go to bed)

Around Midnight Wally wakes up after having a bad dream. He gets up and walks to his parents room, he is about to knock on the door, but he hears the baby crying inside. He stands there for a minute, but decides to knock on the door anyway.
WARD: (answers the door) Wally! What on earth are you doing up?
WALLY: I wanna see mom.
WARD: (looking back into his room) Um, no, Wally, you can’t see your mother now, she’s busy. You go on back to bed. You can see her in the morning.
WALLY: But dad I…
WARD: That’s enough now son, go to bed.
WALLY: (disappointed, returns to his room. When he arrives he sits on his bed and thinks for a while.) I’ll run away. They don’t need me here anymore. (Wally says to himself. He takes out his little round red suitcase and begins putting his clothes in. After he finishes, he takes his suitcase and starts down the stairs. He stops, turns around and stares at his parents door for a few minutes and then continues down the stairs and quietly goes out the door.)

Later that night
Wally decides to go to his friend Tooey’s house. He goes to the window he knows is in Tooey’s room and knocks on it.
WALLY: (whispering) Tooey, hey Tooey. Wake up Tooey. Lemme in Tooey.
TOOEY: (Comes to the window, rubbing his sleepy eyes) Wally? What are you doin’ here?
WALLY: I run’d away. Can I come live at your house?
TOOEY: Yeah, I guess so. Come on.
WALLY: Thanks Tooey. You’re a real pal. (Climbs in Tooey’s window)
TOOEY: Well, lets go back to bed.
WALLY: Ok Tooey. Where am I gonna sleep?
TOOEY: Um…I guess you can sleep in my bathtub. I gotta blanket for ya.
(Wally and Tooey go into Tooey’s bathroom and Tooey hands Wally a blanket)
WALLY: Thanks Tooey.
TOOEY: You’re welcome Wally. Goodnight.
WALLY: ‘night.
(Tooey goes back to his bed, Wally lays awake, thinking about how his family used to be before “Tweedore” came along. Eventually Wally curls up with his blanket in the bathtub and falls asleep.)

Around 5 am, Ward and June are awakened again by Theodore’s crying. June begins feeding him when Ward decides to go check on Wally.
WARD: Dear, I’m going to go check on Wally. He seemed rather upset when he came to the door and I’m afraid I was a bit harsh with him.
JUNE: Yes dear, go check on him. You know, I’ve not been paying much attention to him either.
WARD: Alright dear.
(Ward leaves their room and walks to Wally’s room. He slowly opens the door as not to wake Wally up. He opens the door slightly, but cant see him so he opens it a little more, a little more, until he discovers Wally really isn’t there. He then begins looking everywhere. He checks the bathroom, under the bed, the closet. He finally decides Wally’s not in his room. He next goes downstairs. He checks the living room, the kitchen, the dining room. Still no sign of Wally. June, after noticing Ward had been gone a long time lays the now sleeping Theodore back in his crib and goes to Wally’s room. When she sees they aren’t there, she goes downstairs to find them.)
JUNE: Honey? What are you doing down here? (She looks around) Where’s Wally?
(Ward is standing by the couch in the living room, with a puzzled look on his face. He just looks at June, he doesn’t respond)
JUNE: Honey? Honey, what’s wrong? Where is he?
WARD: I don’t know. He’s gone.
JUNE: GONE? Ward how can he be gone?
WARD: I don’t know dear. All I know is that he isn’t anywhere to be found in or around the house.
JUNE: Oh my! Ward what are we going to do? Oh, where could he be? (begins to panic)
WARD: I don’t know. Now calm down dear, panicking won’t get us anywhere.
JUNE: Yes, but where do you suppose he’s gone? Why did he leave?
WARD: He probably just ran away. Things are so different around here now, it probably overwhelmed him.
JUNE: What do you mean JUST ran away? Ward he could be out there in the cold. This is serious. We have to find him NOW.
WARD: I know dear. Don’t get hysterical. I just meant that all boys run away at some time or another. We’ll find him. We need to get the car out and see if we can’t find him that way.
JUNE: Ok, I’ll wake Aunt Martha and tell her what’s going on. She’ll take care of Theodore.

June and Ward get in the car and begin driving all over Mayfield trying to find Wally. They stay out until about 7, but have no luck, so they return home.
JUNE: Oh no. Where can he be? I’m so worried.
WARD: I’m worried too dear. I guess all we can do now is start calling people, seeing if he’s at a friend’s house.
(Ward picks up the phone and begins making calls)
WARD: Hello, Mrs. Anderson? This is Ward Cleaver. Look, I’m sorry to wake you like this, but we have a bit of a problem…It seems Wally has run away…Yes, we were wondering if he could be at your house?…Thank you (covers the receiver and whispers “she‘s checking“ to June)…Oh he isn’t…ok then, well if he should come by, could you keep him there and call us?…Thank you, and again I apologize…Goodbye.
(Ward hangs up the phone)
WARD: Well, he’s not at Chester’s.
JUNE: Oh dear. Who else can we call?
WARD: I’ll just start calling all the people I know that have a son Wally’s age.
(Ward proceeds to call all the people he knows with children, even the Rutherfords as a last resort, but no luck)
WARD: I just don’t understand it. Where could that boy be?
JUNE: (Starting to cry) I don’t know. It’s my fault though. I should have been better to him since we brought the baby home. It’s all my fault.
WARD: Now dear, (sits down by June, putting his arm around her.) don’t blame yourself. We’ll find him. I know we will.
JUNE: Well, what do we do now?
WARD: I guess all that we can do now is notify the police. Maybe they can find him.
JUNE: That’s a good idea.
(Ward goes into the kitchen and tells the Police about Wally)
JUNE: Well?
WARD: I told them. They said they would do what they could.
JUNE: Oh dear. I hope they find him. If anything happens to my baby I would never forgive myself. (Begins crying again)
(Ward goes and sits by her again trying to comfort her.)
(Ward and June wait by the phone for another hour when it finally rings)
JUNE: Oh, I hope they’ve found Wally!
WARD: (answering the phone) Hello?…Oh hello Mr. Brown…Yes, you just moved here…Oh he did?…How long ago?…He what?…Oh…So he’s there?….He’s ok isn’t he…Oh well that’s good…Ok, can you keep him there for a few minutes?…Ok, we’ll be right there…Thank you so much…bye.
JUNE: Where is he? Where’s my baby?
WARD: He’s at the Brown’s. They just moved here a few months ago and apparently Wally and their son Tooey have become friends. Mr. Brown said they found Wally asleep in their son’s bathtub a few minutes ago!
JUNE: In the bathtub?!
WARD: Yes, that’s what he said. Let’s go get him.
JUNE: (calling up the stairs) Aunt Martha? We’ve found Wally, we are going to get him. Be back soon!
(Ward and June get in the car and drive to the Browns. Ward walks up to the door and Mr Brown has Wally waiting. Ward hugs his son and they start walking back to the car, where June is waiting. As soon as June sees Wally, she gets out of the car and runs to her son, throws her arms around him and picks him up)
JUNE: Oh sweet heart! Oh honey you had me terrified! Please don’t ever run away again!
WALLY: Ok mom. I won’t. I just thought no one needed me anymore at home.
JUNE: No honey! Your father and I love you very much! We would never want you to leave! We’re sorry if we haven’t been paying as much attention to you as you’re used to. I promise we will try to do better, but you have to remember, you have a brother now, who we also love. And we’re going to have to give him attention too. Do you understand honey?
WALLY: Yeah, I understand. I like Tweedore.
JUNE: I’m glad Honey. (Kisses Wally).
WALLY: I wuv you too mom. (Wraps his little arms around June’s neck and they walk back to the car and go home.)

After this happens, Wally grows to love his little brother. Only one incident made him question this love he felt for his new sibling. A week after this happened, Wally was leaning over Theodore’s (who by the way has a new nickname “Beaver” coming from Wally’s inability to pronounce Theodore) crib and Beaver spit up milk all over his new sweater from Aunt Martha. But Wally has since gotten over it and moved on.
THE END.

BBF

This one took me a little longer to complete, and I'm still not happy with it, but oh well!
