Gaining rights to songs or films
Ok, I want to know how to gain rights to a song. I've been looking up some songs which aren't the most popular, a bit rare, and I want to find who wrote them, owns the rights to use them etc. Does anyone know if each song has a code or something (like books ISBN) or a site I could search for these rights.
Question 2- If you get the rights to a film, is it only rights to show it? How do I get rights to use it? Do you have to buy million dollar full rights, or just pay royalties. 3- Does anyone take those copyright warnings on videos seriously? it says it's illegal to broadcast at school- but can you see a school applying for rights to show a film on a half day? Our school shows films often, and doesn't give a damn, like the cops are that bothered to come down and arrest you- like a couple of kids are gonna be traumatised by seeing it without the rights. |
