Of all the awards this tube producer has won, his latest is the most impressive. Kelley's Boston Public will receive a Peabody Award this year for an episode that featured class discussions about the use of the "n" word by blacks and whites in society. The Peabody Awards differ from other electronic media awards because they are given solely on the basis of merit, rather than within designated categories. This year's ceremony to honor the winners will be held in New York City on May 19 with Barbara Walters serving as host. The event will be taped for a June broadcast on the A&E Network.
