Angry Why do they play so little Pearl Jam?

Why is it that when I hear Pearl Jam on the radio, it's only the top 3 songs (Even Flow, Alive, Jeremy) from the Ten album?? Every once in a while they'll play Daughter, Better Man and Black. Why do radio stations act as if Pearl Jam hasn't done anything good in the past ten years? Do they really blow Tender Chunks that bad??

They just play what's popular, and Pearl Jam doesn't really play the popularity game, so radio stations would rather play cheap Pearl Jam ripoffs (*cough* Creed *cough*) instead.

True. Kinda funny how when Stone Temple Pilots came out JUST RIGHT after Pearl Jam, they sounded JUST LIKE Eddie Vedder and the boys. I wonder what they sounded like BEFORE they got signed to a major label deal--did their record company and producer, etc. all insist they sound like Pearl Jam??

Oh yeah--Creed, remember when their bassist got fired for saying
they were SOOOOO MUCH better than Pearl Jam? Riiiiight... And Scott Staph-Infection had to grease up his ugly chest for the cover of SPIN?

Yeah, Scott Weiland sounded a lot like Eddie Vedder in their debut single, "Plush," but I think they've come into their own since then. I no longer hear any vocal resemblance.

Yeah, that was horrid.

I saw Pearl Jam at Key Arena on December 8, 2002. Steve Earle and Brad opened. The best concert I've ever been to. Too bad that show won't be released on a (legit) CD.

Cool re: STP

Yeah, STP really did come into their own as of lately, I like their newer stuff--but they don't play them on the radio, their new stuff anyway, because prolly it's not PJ/Eddie-ish enough...
Makes you wonder what's with Seattle radio that championed the scene ten years ago. It's disappointing that I don't even hear the New Music Hour anymore on KISW...where I first heard Godsmack and Disturbed over 2 years ago...

I would've liked to see that show at the Key Arena...

It was great. I got a really cool T-shirt that said "02 Riot" on the front and "Pearl Jam: Key Arena December 8 & 9, 2002" on the back. I flew back to Spokane the day after the concert, and went the laundromat a few hours after I got home. All my clothes were stolen. Now the only thing I have to show for the concert is a really cool poster drawn by Jeff Ament.

Wish I still had that t-shirt, though.

I seriously don't think I've ever heard a Pearl Jam song on any of my local stations.

Our local radio station has played a lot of Pearl Jam stuff here lately, but it's probably only because they are coming to town this Wednsday. I really like Pearl Jam, myself. I wish they would play more of them and a LOT less Creed. I just don't much care for Creed. Maybe it's because they are over played. But I do have to give the local radio station credit, they do play "Get Right" pretty often. Not a bad song either......

I like "My Own Prison", but what the hell is the hype over Creed??
A more commercially accessible version of Pearl Jam??

I'm not sure what the big deal is. Sure, they ARE a pretty good band, but my gosh, why in the world do they have to play their stupid songs every 30 minutes on the radio? And it's not even the stuff off of "My Own Prison" which is better than their new stuff, in my opinion, it's the stuff off of "Weathered" and "Human Clay." I really think Creed has gotten worse by all the publicity. Every album they release seems to not be as good as the one before it.
