oh my god, u will not believe this. okay i am in grade 10 so that means we gotta take this careers course- its worth .5 of a credit. and we are learning how to make a job application. so we have a textbook, and it had an example of what an application should look like when its filled out. ANNNDDDDDDD (good part)
in the application the person used fake names of previous emplyers and their references and they used all the names from Newsradio!!!!!! ![]() (if any one has careers- grade 10 course - nelson textbook- its on page 197) one of the Categories was: Work Experience and it said: first place the person worked -> Supervisor- Jimmy James second place person worked -> Supervisor - Dave Nelson second category was: References: first reference-> Lisa Miller second reference -> Matthew Brock as soon as i saw this im like holy ****! i told my friend Andrea who knows im completely obssessed with Newsradio and shes like omg. i was laughing soo hard, then i told my teacher and like everyone in my class, then i brought my book home that night and showed my sister - who watches NR with me- and my bro, and my dad!!!!! it was soo funy and actually sorta weird that they would have those names in a school textbook. okay well i thought that i should share it with you cause it was kinda neat/weird/cool/funny! okay bye *newsradio forever* -> my textbook was made in 2001 ,so after newsradio had already ended!!!!!! crazy eh?

That is cool.
I remember watching an episode of "Access Hollywood", after NewsRadio had been off for a season. When they began a story, they played the "NewsRadio" theme song in the background. I thought they were going to do a story about the show, but they didn't. So that's what happened to the theme song after NewsRadio ended. |

Wow, that is cool! My mom worked with someone named Lisa Miller. I think that's just a coincidence.
On a semi-related note, I had to take a classical music appreciation class last year to fulfill my fine arts requirements. While we were listening to some of the works of Franz Schubert, the professor played a very familiar-sounding piece. When it was over, he asked the class if anyone recognized it. Someone said, "Hey, isn't that the theme from Wings?". He was right. Personally, I think just about all classical music sounds the same. I don't know HOW I passed that class! |

That's cool! It just goes to prove that NewsRadio may be gone, but it has not been forgotten! This is a truly good example of how pop culture has crossed over into the mainstream. The person who wrote that particular article in your textbook is obviously a true NewsRadio fan, as well as an individual with exquisite taste. Kudos to the writer, and kudos again!

Mine too, but the less said about her the better. |
