I'm pretty sure they got "J.J." from James being his first name and the fact that he's a Jr. I don't think his middle name was ever mentioned, if he even had one.

Well if that is the case, then that doesn't make sense. The reason because i heard Florida called the dad-James Evans Senior. So that would make the son-James Evans Jonior.-which doesn't lead to the intials-J.J. It was also a episode when J.J walks through the door and says here is"J.J Evans. I don't think he meant James Junior Evans.-LOL

You don't understand. J.J. is a nickname. His full name as we know is James (Unknown Middle Name) Evans Jr. Now, we have heard James call him Junior and in fact there is an episode called Junior the Senior.

Obviously, somewhere along the line the nickname "J.J." came about from someone getting tired of having to seperate the two James'. We have James Evans (John Amos) and James Evans Jr. (Jimmie Walker). How are you going to seperate them? You give one of them a nickname thus, James Jr. becomes J.J.

This is really not an issue of middle names at all. J.J.'s middle name was never revealed.

His name is James Evans Jr. "J.J." is only a nickname. Which takes his first name and the Jr. which always comes after a name. In this case anyways, the Jr. follows his last name.

ONCE AGAIN: J.J.'s middle name was never mentioned.
