'All the Way' [Spoilers] - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I saw this early this morning [no Foolin'] and there are a few observations I'd like to make here.
1. It's great seeing everyone the way they started out- and even the extras looked authentic to the times!
2. Yes, the name of the diner was Arthur's but I guess they didn't want an Arthur-overload so they changed the name to Arnold's soon thereafter [hence- the 'under new management' sign that stuck around awhile during the beginning episodes].
3.Richie tells Howard Fonzie's full name of Arthur Fonzarelli when discussing him for the very first time. Evidently, not only had Howard never met Fonzie before but Richie had never previously mentioned Fonzie to him. [Howard: What's a Fonzie?]. Interestingly enough, although Howard is somewhat sarcastic about Fonzie being a drop-out (saying he could join CHUCK in that department), he doesn't attempt to forbid Richie from being friends with him.
4. Fonzie is FAR more menacing and quietly brooding here. He hardly says any lines and all the guys seem somewhat afraid of him but he's a chick magnet! At this point, he seems too intimidating to Richie to be a mentor- much less an actual friend. Also, it's interesting that while he undoes the bra on the radiator like a pro and expresses displeasure to Richie over the 'hot date' NOT being so hot, he still takes her out but it's evident IS going to respect her boundaries! Also, he wears a cloth mechanic's jacket but NOT a leather one!
4. Chuck seemed supportive but not all that bright so it made sense that Richie wasn't seeking out his advice re this date.
5. Marion was more levelheaded and subdued here than she'd be later on. Her affection for her family was warm but not gushy or sentimental as in later seasons. She seemed more to be a 'straight woman' than anything here.
6.Joanie was bratty but nothing really standing out about her character here besides.
7. Potsie seemed more worldly than later on (at least MORE so than Richie) but as smug as he tried to project himself here, it was quite evident that he really wasn't more experienced than any of the other teens! Still, it's evident that he'd SEEM a good mentor to Richie. BTW, they mention Ralph's and Fonzie's full names but not Potsie's here.
8. Richie was quite a good character here in that he was obviously quite intelligent but somewhat naive. I can't imagine anyone else doing the character better justice than Ron Howard! He had quite a load to carry as he was in every scene and almost every shot here!
