I've actually been wondering this for awhile, but...

Has anyone ever noticed when Desi stopped wearing his wedding ring on ILL? During the early eps he was wearing it, but in the later ones he's not wearing it. Does anyone know between which eps he stopped wearing it?

You noticed that too? Well, one theory I had was because of that trip they took to Hawaii when Lucy & Desi had a fight one day and he went into the ocean and got hit with a wave. He sometimes wore the ring on a chain with a Saint Christopher medal around his neck, and that day when he got hit with that big wave it came off of his neck and went to the bottom of the ocean. Then a few years later when Lucy was doing Wildcat on Broadway, an older couple found the ring, the medal, and the chain when they were vacationing in Hawaii and returned it to Lucy.

I am not sure exactly when this happened since most books don't print dates, but I do know that this incident took place in the mid to late '50's, so that might be your answer, dawsongirl. If not, someone please clarify it for me....I don't want to louse anyone up!!!

I don't know anything about him losing his ring, but I know it's in safe hands now....his daughter has them and on the insides they read "To Lucy, Love Desi" & "To Desi, Love Lucy".....simple but cute!

Wow, are you observant, dawsongirl. Normally, I'd say I'd start watchinapeg very closely to see when Desi stopped wearing the ring but since I won't be able to see ILL anymore, I can't help you.

I'd be very interested in when he did stop, though. What was the first episode? Anyone out there know this answer? Who has all of the shows on tape and can answer this question?
