It may have been her first time back in the limelight since adopting son LIAM, but Sunday was certainly no "bumpy night" for CALISTA FLOCKHART.
The "Ally McBeal" star performed the classic role of simpering sycophant Eve Harrington at a special theatrical reading of "All About Eve" in Los Angeles. Calista's leading man HARRISON FORD was in the audience and other high-powered stars joined in on the one-night-only event, which benefits the Actors' Fund Of America. ET caught up with Calista, who revealed it was more about the night's cause than prepping for the part: "I didn't really prepare at all ... it was alot of fun and we're all looking forward to the party!" The original single-white-female pic earned six Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director (JOSEPH L. MANKIEWICZ) and more in 1950, and featured screen siren BETTE DAVIS and neophyte ANNE BAXTER in the title roles. In Sunday's version, STOCKARD CHANNING played the role Bette made famous: trusting stage diva Margo Channing, who takes the scheming Eve, an aspiring actress with designs on Margo's success (and her man), under her wing. JOHN RITTER played Margo's boyfriend; TIM CURRY was Addison De Witt; ANGELA LANSBURY was Birdie, Margo's best friend; and "Six Feet Under"'s LAUREN AMBROSE also had a starring role. http://www.etonline.com/celebrity/a15219.htm |
