Smile Brenda was the real star!

For me, Brenda was the real star of the show. Rhoda as a sitcom was very entertaining but I always looked forward to Brenda's appearances more than Rhodas. Her Mum too was a scream. They should've gave them their own show. A relationship not unlike Cliff and his Mum off Cheers! Does any of the networks still re-run Rhoda?

TV Land hasn't run "Rhoda" in years. They show "Mary Tyler Moore" every day though. I wish they did. I barely got to see any episodes back when N@N used to show it!

Wink Brenda The Star

Yes,I loved Brenda too, loved her put downs of herself, liked the episode where she'd lost lots of weight and was fighting off dates.
Didn't like it when Benny came in along, felt she lost a lot of her independance because of him.
Valerie and Julie made Rhoda, also the one and only and sadly missed Nancy Walker!

I use to look foward to seeing Brenda too. She was so funny.

I couldn't stand Rhoda's husband. Yuck...........

I did love Brenda and her Mom Nancy W.

Brenda was a great sister. She was also a wonderful friend and daughter. It's so great that 2 actresses from the MTM camp - Julie Kavner (Brenda) and Marcia Wallace (Carol, The Bob Newhart Show) went on to win Emmys for their voice-over work on the Simpsons.

I liked Brenda, Rhoda and Ida, Nancy Walker was always one of my favorite actresses. I didn't really care for Joe.

Wouldn't that have been great if Brenda had her own show? She was funny enough to have carried it off.

I was convinced Brenda DID get a spinoff, called 'Brenda'. And I made a bet that I was right... I asked on tribe.net and a few people said they remembered it too, filling in details like Brenda losing weight, etc. But, there is no evidence of such a show anywhere. Am I crazy?

Did they do something funny with the episodes of Rhoda to make it look more Brenda-focused? Thanks for any insight.

^ I'm pretty sure that a "Brenda" spinoff never made it to the air...whether or not it was actually proposed, I don't know. Sorry! Welcome to the boards!
