When I said "old" I meant bands that don't release albums anymore. I guess I should have made that a little clearer, because technically the Foo Fighters were formed only a year after Nirvana broke up.

The Foo Fighters were formed in the fall of '94. In fact, Dave had all of the songs from the first album already written while still a member of Nirvana. Dave laid down some demos that were to become Foo Fighters songs with Krist during Nirvana's final studio sessions in January, 1994, when Kurt failed to show up at the studio for two day straight.

Here's a "did you know" - Dave plays pretty much all the instruments on the first album, too.

A little history lesson for you kids.

Oh I knew that Dave had written a lot of stuff while in Nirvana, but I didnt know that the band formed in 94. I thought it was 95. Oops, my bad.

Yeah, I read that about Dave somewhere yesterday. I think it was mentioned in a biography I read becuz I am doing a paper on them for Music Appreciation later this semester.

It's kind of confusing sometimes, because the first Foo Fighters album wasn't released until late 1995.
